That is very very nice ! Beautiful colors and probably the cleanest '29 I've seen in a long time . Great job !

Built from the Deals Wheels kit using my own decals and aftermarket wheels and tires . Not historically correct since Oscars winged Mk8B was sponsored by Jerobee R/C Electronics but the earlier Auto World livery is what I remember from my slot car days and buying from the AW catalog . I had a lot of fun with this build and I hope you all like it ! Thanks for looking . BOB .

Something I learned many years ago from an old body and paint man : Fill a shot glass with lacquer thinner and set it on your bench . Check it every few minutes and as it absorbs moisture out of the air it will start to turn cloudy . The faster it gets cloudy the higher the humidity , but if after a half an hour or so it's still clear then it's save to paint . You learn with experience how much is okay for your particular paint . It sounds kind of silly but it works great here since the humidity is rarely below 50 % . And Bill is absolutely correct , if you are spraying lacquer and it blushes on you it will polish off .

They have some interesting looking stuff . Are they in Europe and how is the shipping ? Time , cost , etc . . .

It sounds like we grew up in the same time zone and did the same things ! I got started with Thunderjets around '63 and never looked back ! I always had a track somewhere but really got serious when the AFX cars came out . I always had a track set up in a spare room or in the basement and it always seemed to get bigger every time I redid it . If you ever dig your stuff out , take a few photos . It would be cool to see what you have .

You're off to a great start Jay ! Good choice in painting the wheels black , all that chrome is a bit much on a car this size . They look much better with just a chrome trim ring , and you've got the stance perfect ! The chassis looks really good , very clean and nicely painted . The engine compartment looks good too , if you use a semi-gloss or flat black it will help make the engine and other details stand out . I really like what you've done so far , keep us updated !

I'm not sure what you are saying . . . SMP produced a promo style '60 El Camino and later AMT released the '59 El Camino which has been reissued several times . The SMP tooling is probably long gone and AMT isn't about to modify the tooling for the '59 since it is such a good seller . Likewise it's not very likely that Revell would modify or make all new tooling for a '60 as there isn't a big enough demand for it , the '57 Ranchero is a much more sensible choice . As for my build , it is built using parts from both the '59 El Camino and the Revell '60 Impala . Anyway , thanks for looking . . . I hope you liked it !
