Coversion kits of the 90's-00's
The70judgeman replied to mnwildpunk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There is something like that around here in Milwaukee...90's T-bird with the conversion. It's at just about any car show in the area and I still refuse to take a picture of it. This is just my opinion...it's just too stupid and it's not even cool. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. -
Excellent build and weathering. If photographed outside at the right angles...it could almost pass as a real car.

Milwaukee NNL 21 - April 13th, 2013 Waukesha, WI
The70judgeman replied to Casey's topic in Contests and Shows
Yeah...I worked down that way at Spancrete(Plant 2) across the street from the pits over 10 years ago. You could feel the ground shake a little when they were blasting. I'm working on it. I have two in mind that I've shown here on the forums. Just need to tidy up a few details I somehow missed and I'll see about another 1 or 2. -

I've got the address, for the show, but is it out on what is called Hwy. JJ(Bluemound Rd.)? If it is, I pretty much know where it is...I worked out that way farther west down the road. Just wondering...I've got GPS on my phone anyway. *Nevermind. County JJ(Bluemound Rd) & Springdale Rd. -

Casey, Nick, or someone who knows- I read somewhere else about general admission($10), but is there a fee per model to display and how much? Thanks. Whether I do or don't display a model or two, it sounds like I'll be out there for the show. -
Try www.modelempireusa.com They still have some on the rack and on their online catalog(page 56)...well, whatever they have left. Can't guarantee they'd have exactly what you're looking for though.

Now I remember the green car. And now that I've seen the silver one I have to have one...maybe two. As far as it being 1/24th doesn't bother me at all. I'm very familiar with the Monogram '70 1/2 T/A kit and love it. It's my favorite T/A style...'70 1/2-'73. Please keep us up to date on production and where to pick 1 or 2 up from. I'm in!

Sean or Jeffrey- What scale are we talking about? 1/24th or 1/25th and what donor kit is the master based from? I might be interested as well.

I bought a trans kit('70 GTO body and other parts) from RR on ebay 4 or 5 years ago and I don't think he sells there anymore. I have checked very recently looking for a '70 Formula Firebird myself. The RR website is up and running and the Formula kit is on there. Still up in the air about getting one though.

We'll see. Haven't been there before. Planned to go last year, but completely forgot about it. -
Scale Auto Hobby & Toy Shows 2013 Schedule
The70judgeman replied to The70judgeman's topic in Contests and Shows
I just bumped it, because it's coming up next month. I'll probably skip it too and just try to make it to the NNL show instead. Don't know if I'll display anything though. -
What do you drive?
The70judgeman replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
After 5 1/2 years of driving a car('07 Hyundai Sonata) and also dumping just over $2700 in replacement parts and fixing things up on my dads truck('04 Dodge Dakota SXT) to tow with, which took a nose-dive in the engine department(internal), I decided to trade both in with a compromise to just drive one vehicle. Picked it up last night...2013 Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab 4x4. -
Can't pick it up till Monday, but deal is done. A check and two 1:1's going bye-bye...a new 1:1 coming home. **New 1:1 pics in "What's your 1:1 car?" thread. Figured it was more appropriate over there.

Scale Auto Hobby & Toy Shows 2013 Schedule
The70judgeman replied to The70judgeman's topic in Contests and Shows
Bumped. About a month till the next show. -
If you need another vote for having this cast in resin...you've got mine. Love these old Pontiac land yachts. Just my opinion, but there aren't enough Pontiac kits out there...especially some great passed over subjects. Keep going...loving this.

I never thought about doing that, but the end result looks well worth the time and effort. Great idea!
-
Man...not another one. I'm definately gonna have to give them a call. Maybe even visit them this spring when I get up north.

I'm sure you've met him before as a customer. He was always tinkering on something and getting parts for it. I haven't talked to him in a while, but last I heard he was rebuilding his GMC P/U again with 400,000+ miles on it after it was T-boned in an accident.

Oh, Ladysmith...I know a couple that live there, Bob and Kathy Elia. I worked with Bob in Waukesha till he retired. We worked at Spancrete together and he was my crane operator. Haven't been over that way, but I know where it is.

Just like Kevin...I did a smooth trade with Michelle (Turbokitty). No problems at all. Package arrived in great shape. I'd definately trade with her again.
