  1. I'm not an AMC fan, but today as I pulled into my local Menard's there was a white and blown Javalin leaving. Didn't have time to get my phone out to snap a pic or vid of it before he was out of there. Sounded pretty good though.
  2. Got this from a friend/co-worker. It's an older model of the 1/16 General Lee he built in the '90's. Thinking about stripping it down and redoing it to give back to him.
  3. Went to the annual West Allis car show held right downtown. The bonus for me though is Model Empire, one of the sponsors, was open on a rare Sunday. So, of course I had to stop in. Picked these up today.
  4. Well...not so fast. LeMans of those years were 2D37 cars and GTO's were 242 cars...the 2 at the beginning of each is for Pontiac. Technically a separate model off of the LeMans line. "The Judge" was and option off of the GTO line. The first year GTO, 1964, was an option on the LeMans. From '65-'71 GTO's were 242 cars. And, in '72 the GTO was reverted back to a LeMans option except for '74...on the Ventura. Oh, and there's no such thing as a Pontiac "big block." It's just a Pontiac block. Externally, they are all the same size. If you need to buy general parts for a Pontiac engine, you will see on the packaging or box "Pontiac 326-455ci." Actual displacement is derived with internal parts.
  5. I've heard of them. Think I saw an article on it in a magazine with pics years ago.
  6. Since the demise of the Crown Vic I've noticed that the Wisconsin State Patrol has recently acquired Ford Explorer's and Dodge Charger's. I've seen both as "marked" squads periodically, but it's the unmarked that really are the sneaky ones. I know of two Charger's, a dark blue one and a silver one. Standard "chrome clad" wheels, no visible lights, and no push bars. Also, there is an oddball, a black Ford Escape that looks like any other Escape on the road as well. All three have tinted windows(probably to hide the Sate Patrol shoulder patch on the troopers uniforms from easy view) and all probably based out of the Waukesha Headquarters. I have not seen any "ghosted" graphics on any patrol vehicles in any PD area that I have to travel through on a regular basis though.
  7. Well, it's somewhat model related as it's what I bought it for. I know it's probably not the greatest kit to buy, but I've never really tried my hand at casting parts and there are plenty of parts I have that I want to use for different models and I don't want to buy new kits for just a few parts. Plus, I need to start with something and Hobby Lobby is just a few minutes away. And armed with a coupon on my phone I got this.
  8. Yesterday, a '67 Impala that sounded pretty good with the Flowmaster's. Today, an early '70's Buick land yacht(I really don't know what model), an '80's El Camino, and a maroon w/black fenders '32 Ford Sedan(restored)...all for sale but not in the same place. Also a '74-5-6-7(?) yellow and blown Camaro.
  9. Love both of them! The color too! Iris Mist is a really beautiful color.
  10. Caught up to a silver with a black Cordova Top(Pontiac's wording for a vinyl top) '67 GTO on my way to work. Sounded pretty nice with the brand new exhaust under it.
  11. Went to Model Empire with the hopes of picking up a couple Starsky & Hutch Torino's, a Datsun BRZ, and a '29 Ford. Well, no S&H Torino's and BRZ's....yet. Got the '29 and '48 Ford's. As well as some more glue and a set of American Satco Big and Little tires. Happy belated B-Day to Me.
  12. A '40 or '41 Willys...for sale on my way to work. Not sure about a supercharger, but it has dual 4's under a scoop poking through the hood. Paint is a shift changing gold to burgundy. Looks like he's selling that one to fund another Willys project in the garage.
  13. Somebody has been watching GYC. It's in the details! Really nailed that one Frank!
  14. Was in the backyard grilling dinner and I saw the flash of a car out of the corner of my eye. Not a newer car but a much older car. A 1957 Thunderbird...triple black with a Continental Kit hanging off the back. It had the hard-top on, but it still looked pretty cool.
  15. No problem Don. After looking up pictures of the cars...'66 Tempest and LeMans and also '67 Tempest and Lemans I narrowed it down to a '66 Tempest.
  16. '66 was the same way. As was '65, but I know for a fact it's not that. I should have checked the taillight panel, but was already on my way out.
  17. Never even looked at that thread. Wasn't interested in the model at all until I saw the tires and then noticed it had a Nailhead. Saw your post here and was just trying to point it out to you is all.
  18. At the grocery store this morning. Not sure if it's a '66 or '67, Tempest or a LeMans. It did have a 326 in it though.
  19. The '29 Model A Roadster 2'n 1 from Revell coming out this month looks like it has a Nailhead in it.
  20. Picked these up at Model Empire today. Love both movies. First one is the Bluesmobile in 1/43scale(guessing). Nicely detailed with all of the road grime. And the other is the T/A from "Kill Bill, Volume II" driven by Daryl Hannah. This one was a double thumbs-up for me as I love the movie(s) and I also collect Pontiac's.
  21. Went to Model Empire to meet up with a guy from work. Also ran into Ken Boyer(aka Kennyboy). Was good to see and talk with him again. Ended up buying a couple boxes of the AMT Parts Pack Red Line tire sets and a couple of small die-casts(posted elsewhere).
  22. First pic is my wife's old car after what happened Friday 8-21. Was an '08 Hyundai Tucson 4x4. her son was driving and is OK. After a week of contemplating what my wife would consider as a replacement she kind of settled on a Honda CRV-EXL...used of course. Well, for what she was willing to spend and what she wanted as features that didn't pan out. So I suggested going back over to another car she kind of just glanced at in passing earlier in the lot. As it turns out she lost a Tucson for a newer Tucson...a fully loaded 2010 Tucson Limited. Pretty much just doesn't have heated mirrors and it's not a 4x4. Also, it has a few dings and scratches, but they will be taken care of this week per part of the deal.
  23. Was at a dealership yesterday looking for a "new to my wife" car. More on that in another thread. But anyway...this was sitting in the showroom right behind me when we were making a deal on a car.
  24. Still looks cool! One of mine(the one with the broken A-pillar) will eventually be taken apart, cleaned up, blah blah blah.... I'm just gonna fix it up! I'm not selling any of mine either.
