Been waiting for this one to be released, because for some stupid reason I have to have one.

It came in an older Revell Cobra 427 S/C kit and there's a driver figure too. They pop up on ebay from time to time.

Thanks again guys for all the comments. I think my plan is going to be...get an identicle kit, built it very similar, get a larger display box, and display them together as a tribute. I've seen some on ebay for a reasonable price. I think one of my lhs may even have one in their out of production/collector kit section. We'll see what happens.

Thanks guys. I'm definately leaving the model the way it is. You can't recreate that patina. Even if I was to restore it, I don't have the missing parts to put back on to complete it. There is another model that my dad built for his dad out there somewhere. It's the Hubley '32 Ford P/U (I think). I'd like to find that one too. Was thinking about getting another '32 Chevy kit to build in his memory...possibly the P/U too.

This is a metal kit that my dad built for one of my grandfather's. It was built over 30 years ago and made its way from Milwaukee to Florida and back to Milwaukee where it ended up in the hands of my sister and her kids for a bit. The spare tires, bumpers, and some other small parts are missing. It sat in my moms basement for years until a couple of days ago. I brought it home and decided to leave it the way I found it. It has sentimental value as my dad is gone now. He was the one who got me started building models.

I usually paint everything flat black, then I use Tamiya semi-gloss black for the vinyl areas. I've also tried brushed on Future over flat black with pretty good results. You'll just have to experiment to find a technique you're satisfied with say...on plastic spoons.

Touch it up with paint, BMF, or strip it and repaint/chrome with Alclad, or whatever kind you prefer. I've done all three. For me...it depends on how bad or where the bad spots are and which way would look best in the end.

I always liked the Pantera's. I remember seeing 2 (1 yellow and 1 red) for sale across from my first job. I'd just sit and stare at them wishing I could afford something like them. But...at 17, there was no way working for minimum wage ($3.33 in 1987) as a dishwasher and in high school. I do have the Testor's kit in my stash. It's too bad there isn't a full detail kit...that I know of besides the 1/18th scale die-cast I put together years ago.

....and then the computers became aware, and humans were not needed anymore. The terminator's and HK's are coming!!

Not an easy color to pull off on any scale model...let alone on a real car. Obviously great prep work for an awesome finish. Very well done.

Got my replacement interior tub/underbody piece from Revell for my '49 Mercury. The one that came in the box was warped pretty bad. The back end drooped and there was a bad twist in the front, because the box was packaged so tight. Now I'm just waiting for my Donn Yost videos. With gas prices so bad now a days...I have something else to show. My new gas sipping puddle jumper. Up to 132mpg. Just enough room under the seat for 2-3 models.

Still need to finish the weathering on my build, but in the mean time I found this at Walmart the other day. It's the premier issue. Seems the Zombie Apocalypse following is growing at a faster rate now. The magazine is a bit pricey at $8.99, but is entertaining none the less. There's even zombie targets in there too.

I have six sitting here right now with I don't know how many others started in some way. Can't seem to start one and see it to completion before another is started...and then another...and another.................

I'm not a fan of green colored cars of any shade, but this one definately works and is an exception. Very smooth body work that just flows. Awesome job Geoff!

After you've figured out what to do after all that other info...shave off any and all scripts, emblems, and whatever else you need to that identifies the car as a Ford Mustang GT.

Got all of these over the last month or so. Most from the local hobby store(s) and some from ebay. Really lucked out on the trucks price wise. About a 1/4 of what people want for each on those on ebay.

Break it down and clean it. I tried to "clean" an airbrush by shooting thinner through it ONCE. There ended up being a dried paint ring on the needle that hung the trigger and a clogged air hole. Ended up breaking it down anyway to clean so I could use it again. Also, do yourself a favor and get a micro-brush set too for cleaning.

As of right now, I'm lucky to have two local hobby stores within a few miles of my home. That is until my wife and I move. But, til that happens, I take full advantage and go to each store at least once a week and spend what I can to help keep their doors open. One of the stores also has an online catalog which also keeps their prices decent...$3-$5 cheaper retail than most stores, because they buy in bulk. And, I also use Ebay from time to time. Once I move I just hope there is a decent hobby store reletively close. If not...then I'll resort to more online shopping.
