  1. Bid early and bid your max and then watch everyone else scrabble around below you. It is particularly satisfying watching those sniper bids come in at the last minute only to be too low. If I don't get it, another one will be along later and i'll revise my assessment of how much I want it. I would like to know what the winning buyer bid to gauge how much more than me they wanted it though. It kills me sometimes to think that if i'd only bid that extra dollar I might have got it. When i'm selling, I love it when people bid early. I always start at the minimum I want to sell the item for so even one bid means i've achieved my aim - further bids are just extra nice.
  2. As Jant says (and happy birthday mate) its dated - all moulded in one chassis, axle through the engine and screw posts on the radiator support panel. Nothing wrong with that in my book but it'd be nice if they warned you on the box eh? If you plan on building a station wagon then be prepared for some tight sanding to smooth out the seam along behind the fins. Also, the join between the screen surround and the roof is a bitch as it is so visible.
  3. www.thepartsbox.com should have something that will do the job. Michele will probably measure their tyres for you if you e-mail her and ask nicely.
  4. I think the AMT '96 Blazer has these tyres. I can't quite read the lettering on the pic. Chances are if the '96 had then then so did the 95 & 97 and probably the same year Ford models (I want to say Explorer?). They make great rear tyres for early hot rods.
  5. Nope, I mean left. Civilised countries where you drive on the left side of the road have the sidecar on the left. I had no licence to drive a car until I was 35 so moved everything by motorbike. When I needed the cement I had no sidecar so it all went onthe back of my 900 Triumph.
  6. How about five 112lb bags of cement across the back seat of a motorbike? Blew out all the seals in the rear shocker. Or, 200 bricks in a sidercar. Sidecar wheel was scraping the inside of the mudguard and she really really wanted to turn left...
  7. Looking good. What's up with the paint on that Charger Junior? I've built a '68 which has cracked under the clear and looks similar! And while you're all enjoying summer bear us in mind down here please as we slide into winter. 13 degrees C today but it appears to have stopped raining. Strangly identical to Londons current summer weather...
  8. It wants to be rattle proof & crush proof. May be loosly wrap it in bubble wrap and then slide it into a screwtop plastic container of about 3 inches diameter (i'm thinking vitamins but maybe also jam or honey?). Wrap it in brown paper and Bob's your mothers live in lover.
  9. Thanks folks. Curt - it was inspired by photos of real Australian TV trucks I found on the interweb but maybe a bit more specialised as they tended to use planks on a roof rack as the top platform! I think in reality you'd want a bit more suspension travel when travesing 1962 era outback roads in search of a story.
  10. Just deepening the lines doesn't cut it IMO. I wash them right at the end with thinned smoke acrylic
  11. g'day folks. I built this for the special theme class at the Ballarat NNL which was last weekend. The theme was Black & White. I thought of Black & White Television for some reason. Maybe I just watch too much? Anyway, I combined both the Street machine & stock '60 Pick Up kits with some scratchbuilding and some stuff from my parts box. Camera is from an AMT Parts Pack - i've never seen anyone else use it before but it was an almost perfect match for those in period photos In keeping with Black & White it has no colour on it - only black, white, grey and metalisers.
  12. Thanks Tim. Ian, I apologise if you thought I was ignoring you but i'm ###### at checking mail - i've only just spotted the little envelope up there...
  13. Thanks Folks. Ian! where you been? Missed you at the other place.
  14. Excellant. Well done.
  15. Very nice. Love the colour choice - they are perfect.
  16. Dzus fastners instead of pins? Good job. Looks ready to race.
  17. Thanks Ron. It's actually the Revellogram kit.
  18. This thread is to blame for this being posted. Humour. It's very important to me.
  19. "Archive" is maybe the wrong word to describe what I have on the bucket. Mess'o'pics'o'builds might be better. The planned builds/kitbashing/purchases are all filed in my head...
