  1. That's going to be pretty cool !
  2. So how does it feel to wrap up a project that you spent so much time, energy and money on ! Your model is fantastic by the way.
  3. I love how you are not satisfied with close enough. Your finished ones are fantastic !
  4. This idea has been suggested and rejected before. I would be in favor of it but I doubt it will ever happen.
  5. I have been watching the show, not bad.
  6. Thanks to all ! I am still considering another pet as I am retired and home alone most of the day . Wife is gone from about 6 to 5 so I do miss the company . Nobody will ever convince me that a pet is not company , they are !
  7. Was able to get some work done . Instructions are much better than the last kit but not without problems . Lots of different wood sticks of different sizes , thickness and length . Instructions may call out let’s say a number 10 but no sticks have numbers and no index to spell it out so some will be either trial and error or best guesstimate .
  8. Going to start this one today . This kit looks like a world better than I one I just finished . Will it turn out better ? I don’t know . I hope to take what I learned from the first one and improve on this one . This has far better instructions so I won’t be able to use that as an excuse . Sails are pre cut and sewn on this kit so that should help . Also included is a small container of parts which I forgot to include in pics . Let the fun begin !
  9. Thanks a bunch fellows. I guess it may just be good enough to not be hidden in the closet. These wooden kits I found to be a challenge. If like me you have built model cars for years and want to try something different you could do worse than try a wooden ship kit.
  10. Nice ! Love those old Mini's.
  11. I almost bought a new one of those in late 74 but bought a CB450 instead.
  12. Thanks Matt. I was just looking over my next wooden kit and it looks like a much better kit. Great looking directions and large color photos to help. No promise that the next one will turn out better but I hope it will . I have a difficult kit waiting to be done so getting another kit under my belt hopefully will help. Stay tuned. Will start another post for the new project with photos hopefully tomorrow. I would like to thank once more all the guys that followed this build and that gave helpful hints and took the time to find and post photos. It really did help.
  13. Cool looking model. Nice work.
  14. Interesting, I will be looking in.
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys. These wooden kits are a whole different world.
  16. Well for good or bad this one is done . I think for a first effort it isn’t too bad . Not as nice as the one posted above but still I’m pretty happy with it . I used all the rigging that was supplied with the kit and it is pretty sparse but I thought some might be better than none . Comments are always welcome pro or con . I can take it !
  17. That one looks great and looks very much like the one I have . Unless this builder added a lot of things it is different. Looks to have less cannon ports, life boat on the rear, the wheel, other different stuff on deck and way more rigging than my kit came with. This builder could have very well made stuff to add and add all the correct rigging. Caution >>>>> when posted mine will NOT look any where near this good. It really does look like my kit done to a higher standard.
  18. The strange thing is the holes are marked for a part number but there is no such part that is supplied.
  19. Ok guys . Here is where I am . Blue tape is pointing to one of the two, holes in the deck that have me at a loss . Any guesses as to what should be there ? Thinking I may just have to plug them with some mast plugs .
