Started with the Street Fighter 60's panel Chevy. Wanted to do something a little different so I decided to try and make an El Camino of sorts out of it. I sliced off the roof and used sheet plastic to make the rear body panel. I removed the molded in spare tire on the floor and finished it with black and white splatter type paint and used self stick black felt for floor. I stripped some of the chrome plating. I modified the tail light by removing a center section and replaced with sheet plastic painted black. The body is a bright orange and the hood stripes are metallic black. Then body was clear coated. I did not use the flip up front end because I just could not get it to fit right. Turned out ok I guess. Comments as always are welcome pro or con.

You probably all know this kit or one of the 2 other like this. Maybe more than a few of you have built this in years past, I did. Wanted another crack at one so picked this off of the bay. Wanted to do something different so I cut the rear of the roof off to make a El Camino style car. Still a work in progress and may do some other mods. Not sure of color. The only thing I really don't like is the fact that the window glass is tinted red. Don't much care for that. Would have been nice if they also included a clear one. Did any of the 3 versions have clear glass ? If so and anyone has one they would part with please let me know. I can swap for the red or maybe some tires or something.

I will be watching. I have thought about getting that kit for 3 or 4 years.

It's a Cobra so I like it ! I still have the first AMT Cobra I built back in the 60's when the kit first came out.

Very nice but a little too clean. : ) I did see a blue Cobra . : )

I have used them to spray Duracoat on a couple firearms. They worked good for that but never tried them on a model.
