  5. So......... you guys ever have one of those builds that you start out gung ho on and then things don't go right and you just want to finish it ? Well that is me with this one. Started when I somehow "lost" the 4 full moon discs I had for the wheels. I just can't find where I put them. Anyway to the parts box I go. No more of them. Found the wheel covers that you see here. I hate them ! I have ordered a set of Parts by Parks discs for the next project which will be a Studebaker. I will order another set for that one and replace these stupid looking things when the first set arrives. Just going to push forward and get this one done. Looks like another one for the closet ! : )
  6. Fantastic looking Camaro.
  7. Oh boy, got this. Going to cut into my model building a bit. : (
  8. Sometimes it just seems that if we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck.
  9. I'm retired ! : )
  10. What would be the difference between a dry lakes car and a salt lake car ?
  11. Thanks Carl. How are your projects coming along ?
  12. Couple of my cabinets. One is a china cabinet I found on Craigslist. Guy wanted 100.00 I offered him 80.00 and he took it. The other is one of the gun cabinets I converted to a shelf unit. Gun cabinets work out perfect IMO.
  13. 427 Cobra 289 Cobra Daytona Cobra Sunbeam Tiger Shelby Mustang GT 350 32 High Boy Pantera GT 40 69 Boss 302 Mustang Superbird................. how did that get in there ? : )
  14. Great looking model.
  15. Got some more done on this build today. Looks like it won't end up being a typical salt flat car but rather just in the style of one. Made a push bar and drilled a hole for same. Drilled holes for the exit of pipes coming through the front fenders, they will be trimmed down in size. The interior has Slixx seat belt decals and the dash has been modified a bit. Sanded off some detail and added some after market gauges and a shifter from the parts box. Molded in a hood scoop from the parts box. Still more sanding and putting to do but it's well on the way. Got the tires for the parts box and are really too wide for a true salt flat racer but that's all I had on hand and did not want waste the nice white walls that come in the kit by running them backwards.
  16. Looking good !
  17. Very cool !
  18. I guess I am both a builder and collector. I build because it is a hobby I have enjoyed for more years than most here have been alive. Also since I have retired I need to have something to keep my hands and mind busy. I also say I am a collector because I collect Cobra models ( other forms too ) that I have no plans on ever building. Building is a good hobby and relatively inexpensive as hobbies go. I also collect firearms and that is way more expensive and I can't use them around the house. Building is also ,for me a good stress relieve ( most of the time ) . : )
  19. Nice work Bill. Keep it going. We would all like to see it finished !
