Thanks Nick. Leaving for hospital in a few minutes. I hate to see her have to go through this again.

This was actually yesterday. About two weeks ago my wife had bunion surgery on her right foot. At the follow up visit a week ago it looked on the xray like one of the two screws that were put in shifted. Not good. At yesterdays appointment the xray showed it worse. As it turns out the doctor used screws that were to short. Wife is having another operation today at noon to remove the short screws and have longer ones put in. Last two weeks of pain and crutches were for nothing and she is pretty much starting all over again except no cutting will need to be done. Better be right this time or my daughter (lawyer) may have to get involved. : ) Needless to say my wife and I are not very happy.

I will admit I like getting good comments on my builds but truthfully what do you really get from them other than a good feeling ? I think I get more out of the comments that point out a defect in my building and I have plenty. Things like Harry mentioning mirrors. Makes me think "I better put some mirrors on this thing". I think honest criticism that points out how to improve or suggest a better way moves you forward. I for one welcome it. I have visited other model forums and this is the best by far in my opinion. You want to see some nasty comments and mean opinionated people, go on some of the gun forums. Oh boy ! I hardly spend any time on those anymore.

I used to look forward to Saturday all week. Spent many Saturday nights at the drive in. Winter in Chicago area at the drive in. Now that was fun.

Thanks guys. After trying several things that were suggested I ended up just doing 3 heavy coats of Dullcote. Did not get the effect I wanted but I was sick of messing with it and just wanted it done.
