  1. Jeff thanx that's exactly wot I'm looking for, U'r a great friend if U can more please. Dingo
  2. Smokey & the Bandit 1 had a Kenworth W900 with a Hobbs trailer and it was black with gold striping, smokey & the Bandit 2 had GMC General in it and that was a silver type of colour with blue stripe work, Smokey & the Bandit 3 had no truck at all and was the crappiest movie made. As far as I know and I have both the first two movies the Snowman never drove a Peterbilt in either so please don't build one as the Bandit rig coz U'll get it wrong and many people out there will tell U so. Dingo
  3. Patrick the Skoda looks pretty good to me my friend, my Falcon is not doing so good as I am having a hard time trying to get hold of the dash for the thing it's not that I'm find it hard to actually buy it it's just finding the time to travel 40km to where I have to get it. In the mean time I'm planning to put up a few cardstock cars even though they don't have interiors they have pretty good exteriors to build and R in 1/24th scale and 1/18th scale so should look OK. Dingo
  4. Brizio, apart from the big Datsun which is 1/12th scale and the Lada Niva which is in the middle row far right hand end scale unknown they R all 1/24-1/25th scale even the Mini back row left side is 1/24th and the only model I didn't build it's diecast. Thanks to all for U'r comments as well, the collection continues to grow with more cardstock on the way. Dingo
  5. Man by the time this is finished U'll be able to drive the thing, great work Steve. Dingo
  6. Great job Fabrizio, I couldn't done better if I was a pro-model builder myself all I can say is cngrats on a job well done. I asume this is wot the inside of a casino looks like, I'm not being funny I've never been in one not even here in Australia. Dingo
  7. This is my Collection so far and it does not include any trucks as they as yet have not been built, it does however include both plastic and cardstock cars. Please enjoy the photos of my collection. The following is as the topic suggest "Under Glass". The 3 pictures below show all my models cars in a display case that I got from a secondhand dealer near home for $100aust. around $104us. I know it doesn't sound a lot but when U'r scraping for money on a pension it's huge. Dingo
  8. Here is my workspace, yes a bit crouded and untidy that's because I've been re-doing my den. The large scale frame (scale unknown) is of a Fokker Dr.1 tri-wing fighter plane, this plane is being built for my wife and so far has taken 5 years to build including a complete break down for a re-build. My work area is part of my wife's electronic workshop which is also untidy BUT that's another story, I have to share it as there is really no other room other than my den and I'm not going back into there. Dingo
  9. This has been an excellent thred an very interesting to read all the comments BUT you have all forgotten one thing and that is, if you where eye glasses to help you see better like do when it comes to spraying of any type and using a respirator you basicly have to spray half blind as the arms of the eye glasses hold parts of the respirator out from your skin thus allowing small quantities of paint dust through This may seem small potatoes to you or anyone else that doesn't wear eye glasses BUT rst assured after spending a morning or afternoon spraying you are soon coughing, spluttering and gasping for fresh clean air so if you use eye glasses think about it and take care as well. This comes from a person who experienced months of pain in limb joints and couldn't work out why. Dingo
  10. I get invited to Scoutings Gilwell Reunion every year and every year I don't attend becuase my wife is not allowed to go, I'm not on facebook because of the same reason BUT I think it's a place where everyone wants to know who the next person is doing (or should that be wot they're doing) frankly it's a place for sticky beeks and I'm not one, each to their own though and if it's not hurting anyone (I doubt that though form wot I've heard) then OK but as I said it's not for me. Facebook phewy. Dingo
  11. My appology to all for the mistake on the Skyline sorry guys no it doesn't run on Gas the cost outweighted the benefits, I wasn't trying to be misleading there just over enthusiatic when writting about the cars we are just so proud of this one and love it, to Christian just becareful eith the P76 double under the front floor carpets they tend to rust there in a serious way and getting parts is hard we where lucky as the Aussie Ford Falcon of the mid-late 60's has a floor pan that fits. On the Skyline here are a fe pix for those wanting to salutae over them. The reason it wasn't converted to LPG in the end was the cost, it was quoted at around $9,500aust to convert the car only cost the person who gave it to us $100aust, he bought a car raffle ticket also it was recomened not to put it n lpg as it would lose value if we wanted to sell it later on or if when my wife and I past it onto our son and he wanted to sell it, so hence no LPGas on it as I said before sorry for the misleading statement but all our other cars that we have and have had all ran on LPGas. Unfortunately it will not be a cheap fuel anymore in Australia as our Government has seen fit to add it to the list of fuels that polute the air we breath and it goes to a $1.20 a liter in April and then who knows wot in July when the carbon tax is added, oh well the fun of owning a car that pollutes. Dingo
  12. Great to have U aboard Patrik, U'll find the motivation soon no worries about that. Dingo
  13. Hey Christian, if ya can get hold of a P76 go ahead and get one as they worth a fortune. Built back in the 1970's they cost British Leyland so much that it sent the company broke here in Australia, they only built 18,000 of them and most fell apart in the first 2 years on the road. Ours has been completely rebuilt form the ground up and cost as much to do that as it did to buy it new in 1973 this particular model is an Executive with all alloy V8 auto trans and runs on LPGas (propane) otherwise we couldn't afford to run it, our other cars run on LPG as well. Dingo
  14. Yep couldn't agree more stsh it away in a few years U'll come back to it, we've all been there heck I've returned after 40 years in the wildeness and I luv wot I do it ain't much a model here and there when I can aford it and I also build cardstock BUT I'm back and it's fun. Like I said I don't do much but I do it. Dingo
  15. If I want it then I buy it from the Staes for around $20us otherwise I go to my LHS and get it from there depending on what it is, I usaully pay around $45-55aust for a AMT or Monogram kit if I wait long enough I can get it of the net in cardstock for free. Dingo
  16. Vince I'm not looking for Truck dashes of the net, wot I'm after is for people who maybe kind enough to go around the truck stops and take photos of dashes of trucks out on the road. There R some great custom dashboards out there and I have found a few here, as for tranfering them via e-mail if they're don't right and in jpeg they should turn out great no matter how big they're blown up to. I can get standard dashes from the dealers no worried but as I said that's not wot I'm after. I will also later on be chasing photos of semi-trailers as well BUT that's later on. Dingo
  17. Just in case U can't read the small print ( I applogise for that I don't know wot went wrong) I'm after real truck dashboards and it's will at first go onto my photobucket album before being printed of onto large photo A5 size prints to hang on a wall of a transport museum I'm hoping to set up here in my home town or state (any country town). The museum is to honour the transport industry not only in Australia but around the world for it's effort in getting stuff to the people of the this planet (the Third Rock from the Sun) and to all who have given their lives in doing so. Dingo
  18. Patami, there's no harm in dreaming my friend a few years ago I would have luved to seen little known Aussie (gee that;s how little know he is I can't remember his name) win even a round of the WRC but it never happened anyway I think Kimi will get there one day after he's part of the Scandinavian (not meant as an insult either) pack who turn out great rally drivers. I have folowed many a Fins, Swedes and Norwigans driving carreer in rallying when I was younger and a rally driver here in Australia and it was a Swedish driver who taught me the Scandinavian flick all thoughs years ago. Hope U'r going to be part of this thread my friend I'd luv to see another rally fan up here and running how about it Patrik. Dingo
  19. We have 3 cars at the moment, we use to have more BUT got rid of them Daily Driver, the scoop (yes it works) on the bonnet lets cool air in to help keep tempreture down as the motor has extractors fitted and it did get rather warm under the bonnet. Given to us by a close friend who won it in a raffle and didn't want it, he already had one. This is an M Code Skyline GTR. The leyland P76 was used as a rally car but is now used as a photographic car when we go out and take photos of trucks, the lights R only used in very dark spots where extra lighting is needed. Two of these cars live in our none garage backyard the other one resides in a special area under lock and security guard. Dingo
  20. Because I build on a not so regular basis I think my skills R adquit for wot they R resamble BUT could do with improving and I'm not afraid to admit it sometime I do absolutely fabulous builds other times they R absolute rubbish so I start again, my biggest let down is not waiting long enough for the paint to harden but I wouldn't try to sell a model even though I have done commission work and it did take me some 8 months to do the model, it turned out OK and I mean OK as the person who ended up with it did not complain about the crappy job on the bumpers (good thing) as they where shocking no matter what I tried the paint wouldn't take on the resin properly. Dingo
  21. Aaron, hate to burst U'r bubble mate but Kenworth trucks actually come out of the U.S. and where orginally founded by Mr. Kent and Mr. Worthington hence the Kenworth name, yes we do have Aussie Kenworths namely the T models 609, 409, 403, 409SAR and especially the iconic 70's SAR that we all know and love, 359, 659, 909 plus the W200 and the C509 plus others that I've probably missed but to say that they are an Australian brand no mate sorry their not and Cossett is right they made at Bayswater in Victoria and have been for along time. I can remember hauling Kenny's out of Baywater 2 at a time back in the early to mid 70's so I think who ever told you that Kenworth is an Aussie brand better go on line and learn a bit about the product started by these two fine U.S. Gentleman. Dingo
  22. To Justin and everyone else who wishes to help me these are real truck dashboards I'm chasing and as I said it can be Yanky trucks, European, whatever it doesn't matter as long as they are good photos that can be expanded and placed on display in a future Transport Museum in my home state. Dingo
  23. Hey guys hoping U can help me as a part of my collecting hobby I also collect photos of truck dashes ( both standard & modified) this is just part of my attempt to set up a transport museum here in Australia and it doesn't matter if they're U.S., european or whatever trucks as long as they R dash boards so I'm asking can U all help me out by taking photos or searching through U'r extensive collection of photos and e-mailing them to me, these will also go onto my Photo Bucket site with U'r name as acknoldgement of the person who took the photo. Dingo
  24. The best thing to happen to anything wearing the Bowtie emblem, that's all they're good for demo vehicles smash the heck out of them to make 'em drive right. Dingo
  25. Hey Sean, is it the water or too many southerners eating Alligator or Snake in the States that make these guys do or build stupid things like that, all I can say is I don't blame U for not putting in a bid if either U or I did one of us may just be the crazy one to win the bid hey mate, just goes to show ya anything turns up on EvilBay. Dingo
