Truck Terminal Diorama
Dingo5162 replied to chuckyr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Yea chuchyr I'm posting on the right board buddy, it was a sarcastic remark because of the size of a 1/24th or 1/25th build I think that after a while it would drive U completely loopy or of ya nut I find it bad enough when i've got two or three cars on the go at once, I know some of U guys thrive on that sort of stuff BUT I don't once a build is over I have a rest for a wekk or two then find my next project which would take another week or two to list up after that its into buying the gear to start all over again, I'm just not as crazt as U yanks R when it comes to building truck after truck I luv to build a project then sit back and admire it for a bit. Hey Dr imagine wot U could do with the London Taxi that's coming out as well. Dingo

Ya going to put lights on it for a night stage it would look great if U did that. Dingo

a CBP proposal Mad Max 4: Fury Road, build the next Interceptor
Dingo5162 replied to Lownslow's topic in Community Builds
Dirk I know that in the States as here there R many types of vehicles used but this should be about MM4 even though it won't star its most important actor BUT who would won't him now anyway he's gone mad (would suit the part though) the build should be around the cars the cops used at the time, I may be a bit of a stickler for detail on how the cars should be but this is wo't it is albout I though MM4 not wot people can build as really wild nut cars outside of the movie. Oh wellI'm just crazy I guess about how Hollywood is going to destroy a great movie and a fab legend. Dingo -
At $160aust I'll have to do a bit of hard saving to buy this one, yes why is it that when U go on to the Sourkraut truck site most things R out of stock, is it that he is so busy that he can't keep up or is it that this is just a hobby business for him not that I'm complaining it's just impossible to find anything on the site that's not out of stock. Dingo

The answer is simple how long is a piece of string, man if anyone can answer this question with a time limit they R not doing the job of building a model and so the only way to answer this question is with a question, how long should you spend on a model build. Dingo

Brizio, good to see another cardstock builder on this forum most of my trucks R built this way but they R not as good as yours, one day maybe but at 60 years of age I doubt it wobbly hands and eye glasses don't help but hey I enjoy it and many people luv my models. Great work on U'r trucks by the way Brizio and one nasty cut there hope it get healed up real soon. Dingo

Truck Terminal Diorama
Dingo5162 replied to chuckyr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That's one heck of an idea BUT in 1/24th or 25th scale I'd get sick of building trucks, my son did a rally scene once with cars in the staging area never again he says, wow took him 8 solid months to get it altogether some cars had working lights etc, and he builds that kind of stuff for a living. Chicken lights for 1:25 scale
Dingo5162 replied to Inky's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Barry thanks for the explaination now I'm not an Aussie with that bit of stupidity hey, seems to me that the chicken guys want to be known that they R carrying chikens more than the fact that they want to be seen, we have cowboy truckers here like that. I was talkin' to a guy at work one (that's when I use to work, some 25 yrs ago now) and I asked him howmany lights he had on his rig facing forward, his reply "at last count 175 amber and 42 green" the lights where on at the time and they where that bright that the truck next to him didn't need use his reading light to see his street directory and the area was lit up as well. Would hate to be drive towards him on the open road. Dingo -

Dingo5162 replied to jacobus's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jacobus, U can send me the Coors trailer (1st photo) and the T600a (second photo) I'll build them and have them as part of my Model TruckTransport Museum, man wot a collection of old kits as well it must be like a kid in alolly shop which one do U pick and start next then try and finish, love 'em all wish I had them. Sounds like a mean machine Jim, how can I get one nah only kidding I can't afford to run the 2 things I got now, normal road car 1990 Mitsubishi Magna and weekend warrior Mach1 Mustang '69 model, that thing has 4 twin webers on a crossflow manifold drinks like there's no tomorrow. Actually Jim it's more than a weekend warrior sometimes it gets used more than the 4 cylinder Mitsubishi here in Australia it is a bit of a rare horse as it's a 351ci with a 4 speed manual most R autos and only 302ci another rare car we have is a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR M-code this thing use to be a drift car but was converted back to road use and raffled of and a friend of ours won it then thought about who would need it more than he so we ended up with it, at the time we didn't have the Mach1 that belonged to my dad who is now too old to drive so he gave it to me because my brither has 3 boys who R car wreckers not lovers I'm glad he did give it to me as it's the only nice thing he's ever done for me U see jim we have never got on since I married my wife some 20 yrs ago now and had only one child instead of the normal 4 that the rest of the family has had anyway that's enough about me and my woes back to the thread how's that Corviar coming along good I hopw. I gues at $43us for the bumper clip conversion it would be a little expensive for U guys in the States at the moment, now U kno how we feel here in Oz when we have to get stuff even though the conversion rate at the moment is $1.08aust to the $1us it still can be a little steep especially when U don't get the bonnet (hood) as part of the conversion pack (at least I didn't). Anyway I hope someone over there is brave enough to take on the project so this thread has something a bit mote than Nissans, Ferraries and Porsches. Dingo

Chicken lights for 1:25 scale
Dingo5162 replied to Inky's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Pardon my Aussie stupidity but apart from chicken lights being on a chicken wot in the hell (aussie slang not swearing) R they. Dingo -
I have a few rigs like that started BUT not finished, not only that but now they R sitting in my neighbour home waiting for my den to be finished with its rebuild, so far that has taken almost as long as building a truck model "well not quite" but how does 5 weeks sound for a room re-arrange. This is wot a section of my den looked like 5 weeks ago. Dingo

Dirk, hate to burst ya bubble here but if Ya going to do the Falcons any justice with a build of those cars U should have stuck with the Torino as it is far closer than the Mustang in fact all of the Falcons of that era where based on the Torino us Aussies just added a few more doors anyway hope U do a great job with the Mustang and that it turns out looking good even though it won't be close to a Falcon. Hey guys if U all wondering this is wot the Holden should look like with the bumper (not bumer) clips on it. Front Clip Rear Clip Sorry guys the best I could do the the dash. Dingo
-
Sounds like a good project Patrik can't wait to see it start, mine is simular an Australian Ford Falcon from the late 60's once I get all the parts and peces for it I can start on its build BUT money is the problem at the moment everytime we get enough a ###### bill comes in and that comes first. Dingo

Hey guys, anyone wanting to build the Holden Monaro can get the front & rear bumer clips and the dash from Scale Automobilia out of New South Wales, Australia, the website to help U all out is scaleautomobila.com.au and this gear will help turn that crappy GTO into a nice Monaro. Dingo
