something a little different than what i normally do
jerseyjunker1 replied to jerseyjunker1's topic in Model Cars
thanks for the tip. i have one of those with a double florescent bulb but not when these photos were taken. -
i did this just to sell on ebay about two years ago. this is a 1/6 scale model that i made up from different things. its called the unfound dead. the skeleton was from an educational kit that i put together and aged the bones. i then took a 1/6 scale german soldier uniform and aged and tattered it. i wanted it to look like a soldier that had been shot and killed in a ditch and the body has not yet been found. i made him to be fully poseable. you can draw your own cocnclusions as to what happened to him as you look at it.

yea you better wait for the weather to clear up. wouldn't want to drive that baby in the snow and rain.lol super build and the hard work on the paint shows.

this was a danbury mint 1/24th scale diecast model 1936 ford 3-window coupe. all danbury mint 36 ford coupes are black. this car was a little distressed when i got it. it was missing some pieces and the paint was a mess with scratches and chips.rather than turn it into a junkyard or barn find car like i would normally do i decided to strip it down and repaint it white. i took the missing parts from other 36 fords i have lying around. i put all real glass in the model and i gave it a high gloss hard to see in the pictures but you get the idea. hope some like it

sweet model and your right. even when i am doing junkers i test fit everything two or three times before assembling it. who wants to remove glue and start over and take the chance of damaging the part.

this may be the wrong place to post this but i thought some of you might like to see my chief restorers baby pictures.i was at the local deli a couple of years ago and when i got out of my car this tiny squirrel just ran up my leg and it was love at first site.i took him home and gave him a bath to get rid of the fleas. i had an old bird cage and that became his home untill he had little room to play so i got him a small dog cage and filled it with toys and wood chips. he had a favorite corner to hide nuts i would give him.i would let him play outside and when he was ready he would jump on my shoulder and want to go back to his cage.untill one day he went outside and decided he liked it better there and went on his own. this was a few days after i brought him home he loved to look out the window he loved to climb the trees he helped me build models in the shed his interest in cars started early here he is a little older at play with his favorite toy

this is rupert my little buddy and chief restorer for my cars. i like him because he works for peanuts and don't talk much. here he is looking over the chrysler to see what will have to be done to it. rupert says ok lets get it outside are there anymore parts in here. i bet with a little gas this puppy will crank right up. the trunk is in great shape. needs all new upholstery but the floors are perfect. is this one for sale too

you know i like it. cool looking builds can't wait to see more. -
i admit i go mostly for the junkyard look as that is the diorama i have been working on for the last few years. most of the cars i build are barn find accidents or total junkyard vehicles.but every now and then i like to do a daily driver and i have done some models to look like decent cars that a junkyard might sell.here is one of those.
