  1. i sometimes do model distressing for a diecast co that deals with mostly franklin mint models. they are mostly hemi cudas and corvettes.i will do from 1-10 models of the same car at a time.once i have the instuctions as to how i am to do them i start to devise a plan and then make a kind of assembly line. in this case they were all 1/24th scale 1971 green corvettes.

  6. thanks Shane. the house is only outside to take pictures or at car shows.the tracto and the cart behind it where all one piece resin on a resin base. i cut them off the base and aged the tractor and wagon.if i find all the pictures i will post them at a later time.
  7. if i do something and it looks like garbage i like to be told. it does not hurt my feelings as i have skin like leather. however other people have thin skin and their feelings are easy to hurt. i guess what i am saying is there could be a post called ( to tell the truth ) where we can show a model and and ask for your honest opinion. or when you post a model that we are not sure about we can just ask for opinions.lol
  8. sweet build i love the way the cab roof is formed. i want to see it finished yea
  9. not a model to build but there is a 1/18 diecast of the car on ebay but it does cost. another may show up cheaper at another time. ertl also has some gto convertables on ebay now http://www.ebay.com/...=item3372707a82 http://www.ebay.com/itm/ERTL-1968-Pontiac-GTO-Chase-Car-Convertible-Polished-Silver-/230752766665?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item35b9efcac9

  11. is this post in the right place i was looking at some junkyard cars and came across this. in the first one i like the part about model building.looked like one of my builds. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=14765
  12. those are greatKen i think the caption fot the guy and girl in the yellow chevy should read i should have got a panel truck
  13. have no fear Tony. these cars are for the most part junkers before i start on them.lol
  14. thanks Shane i have been buying broken and distressed diecast models for a few years now.mostly online.you can get them fairly cheap and not feel guilty about wrecking them. as for the tires i use the model tire as a mold and layer rubber on them to make a flat tire.when i get a chance i will take pictures of the process i developed to do this.
  15. what's odd is the 55 olds is a 1/24 scale danbury mint model that i junked and my friend put it in a picture in a real junkyard.here are some pics of the model. it has all real glass and was repaited green and white. this car was a damaged car when i got it as are most of them. this is the picture he used
  16. see if you can see it then go to part 2
  17. this is a diorama i did for brian dunning owner of west coast precisiond diecast a few years ago.the car is a franklin mint 1/24th scale 1936 cord cabriolet. i totaly rusted the car to look like years of neglect living with the chickens on on an old farm.i aged an old gas pump and loaded the car with all kinds of garbage. the land / chicken coop are scratch built. the hay is grass from the lawn mower that i let age in the sun. i always keep bags of that for simular uses. (again ) these are horrible photos as they were done with a bad camera and the dio is gone now so i have no way to get better shots.hope some like it.
  18. you are right Ed. when i did this i had about the cheapest camera around and i could never get any good pictures with it,when i dig out the dio again i plan on taking some better pictures of it.when i do i will reposte it.`
  19. this was a promo model 1963 caddy that was just falling apart so bad there was nothing anyone could do to save it.so rather than throw it away i created the field of nightmares dio. basicaly its an old abandoned car that is not far off a country road that has been a dump site for many years.can you find the turtle. sorry for the blurry pictures.
  20. you know? i am so glad someone asked that question. i was never actualy told what it stood for so i just assumed that it was short for the word national. i guess i was close as i had one of the words right.lol
