Elastomeric bumbers. Nice touch with the red stripe in the grille (yes, I know - it should be there). Great build! -
Question for you big rig builders

1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1

Very nice, Tim. Looking forward to this kit, I think it will be a bestseller. -
Very nice build

Time for an update. Added the last details like wipers, door handles etc. Also did some weathering in the engine bay and on the underside of the car. Looking at the pictures I realise that the underside needs moore work to look good. Apart from that, the only thing that remain is to paint the hood.
-
Great! I like the stance & attitude. Very nice detailing.
-
Thanks, Kevin. I like the color too, especially with the decals on. The hood is going to be flat black
-
Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words

Thanks, Troy. Well, perhaps being disappointed is bit exaggerated. It´s more like, when you build a model you know and see the things that didn´t turn out so good. Others may not see them, but you know where to look. A bit stupid, but still annoying. You right about that - "practice for the next build"
-
Update. Put decals on, all are from the kit decal sheet. However, didn´t use all of them. The "Hoosier" script is from a Slixx decal sheet.

Why aren't all model kits awesome?
Hayabusa replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The kit that Rob Hall mentions is the german battleship "Bismarck" in 1:200 scale, by Trumpeter. The model is huge! A swedish modeler completed it just recently: http://www.ipmsstockholm.se/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2250&hilit=Bismarck&start=110 I like building model cars, but I also build AFV´s. Clearly, there´s a difference between the 2 genres - what the producers of AFV kits have to offer is quite amazing, I think. The world of 1:35 scale AFV kits was ruled by Tamiya for many years (they started it), but today there´s a vast array of producers bringing high quality kits to the market. Each year, there´s many "new tool" kits released and the level of detail and mold quality is very high for most of the time. If you build AFV models - life has never been better However, a bit hard on your wallet...these kits are not inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for. If you like WWI airplanes, check out Wingnut Wings. I mean - wow! The kits they produce are impressive. Like I said, the world of model cars look a bit different but I still enjoy building model cars. -
Building scale models is quite popular in Sweden. Military objects like WWII tanks, airplanes etc. are the ones that are most popular, I guess, but you also see a lot of car models. The pics in this link were taken at last years annual show i Stocholm; http://modellbygge.ifokus.se/discussions/4f65a47a88f4725c5f008978-bilder-fran-ccm-open-igar?4d712449b9cb462141045ffb-2 The cars in the pics were built by modelers from different countries, not only Sweden. In general, the interest for US cars is quite large i Sweden. In fact, the number of US vintage cars imported in to Sweden is the largest in the world. As an example, we have around 700 1957 Chevys in Sweden. Considering that the population is 9,5 million people, thats´s not all too bad If you´re looking for a car show (real ones, not models), check this out: http://www.bigmeet.com/visitorinfo.php Please note, the opening day is on 4th of July. All of this has, of course, an influence on the swedish modelbuilding scene. We like US muscle cars, Hot Rods, customs etc.For sure

Wow! Love these cars, what a great build! Great paintjob, clean build and...just soo cool.
-
Thanks! Yes, they´re Cragar S/S's and they came with the kit.
-
Thanks for the nice comments Made some progress today, here´s some new pics.
-
I´m speechless. Incredible build.
-
This is how the car looks right now. I´m not totally happy with the model, but I´ve learnt a lot during the progress. I will finish the model, but hopefully the next car will look a lot better.
-
I added photoetch seatbelts from Eduard.
-
The underside of the car. It will definitely be weatherd.
-
The paint is off-white/ivory. It´s not super shiny, since I wanted to achieve a somewhat "used look", the same goes for the interior. I plan to weather the engine bay a bit, not much but just to give the impression of a car that has been used for some years, We´ll see how it turns out.

The rollcage was made from Evergreen styrene tubing. I got a lot of help from members of this forum when I built the rollcage. Thanks again! The front seat is from a ´69 Dodge Dart GTS. I think it looks better than the original seats.
