  1. Hey, Carl..... Do you make your own plates? That's something I would like to be able to do.
  2. The model I'm working on now will be called the Scarlet Harlot...... I've seen a couple others do this, I'm just curious as to how many of you guys name your models. It's pretty popular in the 1:1 world, and I think it gives the build more of a theme.......
  3. I was thinking of making a similar post here! I love all the guys here, I've been here since 2012 and have nothing but positive experiences with everyone....... I guess they let me stay on for comic relief!!
  4. My niece is a very bright young lady, but she has problems grasping some of the new math....... I can understand why, and I don't worry too much about it because MC Escher was also poor at math, but was quite the genius at his art.............
  5. What paints and primer are you using? The reason I ask is maybe you could get better results (which I'm sure it looks fine), with a different paint. Since I've switched to Dupli-Color stuff I get a lot better finish than with say, enamels........
  6. Thank you, Tulio! Thanks, Terry..... The interior is fabric tan by Model Master, it comes in a small spray can. I like to use it because it dries rough to the touch, like scale fabric! The white is just bare plastic........... (don't tell anyone......)
  7. Here's a mockup for you guys! Opted for some Keystone wheels..........
  8. I'm turning 37 this year. I had started to gain some weight, blood pressure was up, etc....... What has helped me was to get a dog! I'm out and about more, I've lost weight, get more exercise than I was, it's been all good for me since I've had her. Also, I cut out pork as Bill mentioned that all should do...... Pets are like holistic medicine...... they work on your entire well being instead of treating symptoms! and It's common knowledge that people with pets live longer, healthier, happier lives.... Now if I could just quit smoking.............
  9. Thanks, David! With Tulio's guidance I figured out a way to assemble the chassis and only have to cut the exhaust into two pieces....... I just built the frame without the rear end, made the rear it's own assembly, so I can run the exhaust thru the frame then add the rear axle....... Should have pics this evening.....!
  10. Thanks, Tulio! I knew you would be able to help, as many of these that you've built.......
  11. Quick question for you guys that have built these...... Can I assemble the frame before running the exhaust? It calls for putting the exhaust pipes thru the frame.......
  12. Getting a decent start on this one. The plan is to throw the custom parts from the chopped kit at the stock body.....
  13. Always been a big Batman fan..... These were drawn out of a graphic novel. They are just Sharpie over pencil with color pencils..........
  14. Hey, Jim..... All you have to do is use the 'choose files' option below your text. Just click on that, choose what photo/s you want to share. they will appear in a box below the posting field. as you type, just click on 'insert into post' to add a pic from the box below into the post...... Be sure to hit enter between pics, tho...........
  15. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/46-48-ford-picture-thread.798516/ I've been perusing this thread I found while searching for research/inspiration............ HAMB is good about having more traditional stuff, and a lot of these cars are their personal rides! Too Cool.........
  16. Very cool and good to know! A woody custom would be pretty neat..........
  17. Yeah, Claypool is a bit eccentric, to say the least! The rest of the album is good, tho, and you gotta admit Gov't Mule did Simple Man some justice........
  18. Thanks for the replies, guys, It's all very helpful.......! Spex84..... I'll be doing what customizing I can by mixing the stock kit with the chopped custom coupe. Tuck and roll interior, lowered suspension, etc..... Just want to do something like maybe '50 Olds headlights, rear roll pan....... just looking for pics for ideas and how they may look. Sometimes things look better on paper than in 3D....
  19. Hey, guys....... I want to build a mild custom '48 Ford with a stock roof. There's not many pics online of these cars customized without chopping the roof. I'm looking for things like unique front and rear treatments. (I have the headlight buckets from the '62 Catalina, I'm thinking quad lights)... You guys have any pics you could share? They would be of inspiration to a lot of folks..... Thanks for any help!
  20. It might would have a little shine to it, but you could try black foil......
  21. Just found this album....... Good stuff!

    1948 Ford

This is a really nice build, David! One of these will be my next project....... The stance is perfect, how did you get it?
  23. Thanks, Mike....... So all I'd need to lower the stock kit would be the parts you mentioned? I wouldn't need a complete custom kit, just those two parts? Thanks
  24. Hey, guys...... I'm wondering about kit-bashing the custom '48 Ford with the stock one. I'd like a stock roof, but with the lowered suspension from the custom. Will these parts swap directly? also Will the custom's fade-away panels fit the stock body? Thank you for any help.........
