Having aids is a prety (sensored) up way to die, and even though his record wasnt spectacular in any way. The 7 wins in his last full season is not bad at all. Even had Daytona under his belt. Also sounds like he fits into the Rich kid stereotype very well lol, as stated in that article.

Tell me about it lol

The Color is Tamiya Italian Red, its the closest i could find in a spray can. Very close now, body is awaiting clear.

It is, i will probably end up putting it on again tomorrow night for the old man lol The waterslides are going on very well considering there age.
-
Few updates, body as almost ready for decals, and ive started putting the chassis and framework together, the motor is ready to slot in, its coming together quite fast in fact. I also watched The Last American hero this arvo, great movie absolutely loved it. I wish i could have the Valiant running pipes as loud as that Mustang lol. Cheers Dave Van.

I am proud, but the wavy decals on one side and the window definitely bug me. Daylight pics

Thanks for the comments every single one of you, really sad to hear about Tim Richmonds life being cut short, sounds like Nascar would of been allot differant today had he of lived. I have also seen days of thunder, a prety good movie i thought! I honestly dont get why there are so many Tom Cruise haters out there. Not good about the decals, the set in my last model (Olds Funny Car) were very brittle and the set with this model look to be in allot better condition. Hopefully they are. Knowing what i do know this build is a bit more special than the others, i didn't get much done last night apart from sanding the body and getting some primer on it, assembled the motor and gearbox and layed a first coat of paint, as well as a coat of paint on all the roll bars.

Some of you may recall the build thread for this not so long ago, i got so wrapped up in another model of mine i never got round to posting pics of the finished product lol. Here it is anyway. I haven't yet seen this model completed with the supplied graphics, so i figured i should try something new. I thought long and hard about what colors go with the browny red stripes and a figured Pearl white would do the job just fine. When fitting the front window i didnt realize one of my fingers had paint on it, rookie error, i also made it worse trying to clean it off the window. I was prety cut by the end lol. For the ride height i flipped the front spindles to get the front as low as possible, i also cut the rear shocks shorter to try and raise the axle closer to the body. Pictures are horrible, there off my phone. I will have to update this tomorrow with some photos in the sun. But let me know what you guys think. Some more

Hey people, this is yet another good score off ebay, personally i have never heard of Tim Richmond but im sure he was a great enough driver to score a line of model cars. I just wanted to build an old old Monte Carlo stock car lol The box was opened but its all there, mostly on sprues too. Keen to get started, so keen that i don't think there will be much sleep tonight lol

Yeh im guessing they already have, or that there is already another class for Turbos/Nos. There are so many it blows my mind, and there is a Pro turbo class but im prety sure they are supposed to resemble Pro stockers, and we have the fastest in the world. Top Doorslammers are my favourite to watch, the rest of the world needs to get amongst them
-
Thats heaps cool the cars can have turbos or nos as well. Over here our Pro Mod class is blower only.

Thanks people!

Cheers guys, W-409 ill get around to wiring motors one day, besides wiring plug leads for dual distributors on something like this looks to be very tricky lol

Hey guys, for those who don't browse the drag racing section heres my recently completed build. I bought this one off ebay for a steal with only the box out of its original plastic. I didn't do any modifications to this one and had only a few tiny dramas towards the very end. As an amature model builder im prety darn happy with the result lol. Cheers.

The basically finished product, i had a little issues fitting the windows but i pulled through, still going to finish painting the inside of the body black but other than that its done. The clear didn't go on a smooth as usual so it really needs a sort of cut and polish i think. But I dont have anything here or the know how to do so. I also used a better quality camera so you can see all the imperfections lol. Im prety wrapped about it either way.
-
Thanks mate, now that i have a few decals on a cant wait to see clear on it! Most fun build ive done yet, im loving it.
-
Body in paint! first time doing 2 tone and masking, came up well i think, hopefully the water slides cover where the 2 colors meet. Prety happy with it atm

Weather forecast says the rain should clear up later this week, lets hope so! i bought some Tamiya "Racing Blue" this arvo with some Tamiya masking tape for the body. As well as finished the assemply of the chassis. few touch ups here and there, sand those rear tyres some more and paint the writing on the tyres and should be 100%. Also thinking of painting the battery box semi gloss black, instructions say red, but the picture on the box is black, and i really don't like the red, especially next to the fire extinguishers. What do you guys reckon?

Got a bit more done tonight, its just falling together with no dramas im quite pleased. Bit of a change lol, the difference between AMT and Revell i think lol.
-
I was under the impression it was single turbo, the motor was pulled from the S15 that Luda said had a "bigger turbo" lol.

Looking real sweet man

Yeh cheers man, its going to be interesting to see how well i can do this model, some parts almost seem to require a different skill set, the body will be a learning curve that's for sure. Quick snap off the phone, the only parts glued to the chassis are the A arms and bumper bar, there are allot of other parts in paint drying to be assembled. No dramas so far which is always good.
