  1. Trying a black background, driver wears shades..... Chrome tape comes in handy
  2. Built this over the last few days box stock, surfboard came with the kit has a propeller! Didn't use one decal, suffering withdrawal symptoms. Headers in hi viz pink after the VHT (Very High Temperature) paint we used in the 70's and 80's on our beetles and kit cars we were building, stops rust but pipes have to be hot for it to stick!
  3. Thanks George, yes it took me a time to find this one!
  4. Thanks Tommy & Scott.
  5. Thanks again guys, I'm very pleased you like it!
  6. Thanks John and Bruce, I'm very glad you like it!
  7. Thanks very much Johann.
  8. Thanks Ed but I can't take any credit for the Big Daddy Roth figure as it comes ready painted in the kit. All I did was add the front and back decals!
  9. Here are all the pieces, and so ready for the dunes..................... And here in the dunes looking for customers..................... He also has one of his own Rat Fink decals on the front of his shirt.
  10. Cheers Stephen, and here's the Tiki Hut and his builder the famous Ed Roth! The sufboard is from the kit with a Firebird Designs decal on the board. So I updated his T shirt by adding a Monster logo on the back. Hold on is there still someone asleep in there?
  11. Thanks Jim and Wayne!
  12. Thanks Ray the kit wheels/tryes combo seemed a bit small, but in real life they were small. I think the bigger tyres will cope with the dunes and waves better.
  13. Thanks guys, it's good to get some positive feedback!
  14. I needed a trailer to cart all of the boards around so built this.................... And put them together in the bright, warm sunshine here today...................... By the by the tiki hut is under construction as we speak!
  15. Lets start with the Surfite. The wheels seemed too small and the body bare................... And a surfboard hire came to mind so I took the board from the kit, made a few more and added various decals..........

Cheers guys, yes I thought the 'Woody' surround needed an upgrade to an 'alloy' look.

Thanks Ron, I'm glad you like it!
  18. Superb classic Porsche Brandon, well done. A friend of ours who used to work for Sauber F1 in Switzerland has this model, and he used to commute from his holidays here to the factory at Hinwill a few times a year!
  19. Superb Dennis and to think these had either 1300cc or 1500cc in the day, the 2litre motor came along later!
  20. Superb build Bruce of a truly British sports saloon! I was a race marshall at the Silverstone Circuit over nearly 30 years, which is about 5 miles away. I remember one of these in particular going to the classic race meetings, the owner/driver would overtake me on the country lanes in the morning, with white race circles on the doors, race the car and drive back to London (65 miles) at the end of the day. He won most of his races as well! He didn't have a backup van, his race wheels and tyres would be in the back where the rear seats used to be, with the trolley jack and tools in the boot space. Depending on the weather he would take Minilite wheels with Dunlop period wet tyres, or Borani lightweight wirewheels with dry Dunlops.

OK Colby, I used Tamiya Red-Brown, light coats to give the impresion of old used leather. Thanks Dann.
