  6. DWC43.... Using Alclad polished aluminum will be a good choice for the bed. Just be sure to have a "bigger" bottle for the airbrush when "spraying"... Here was a truck I did some time ago with Alclad... Good Luck with your build. Kurt McLucas
  7. 8/10/09 Guy's.... What a weekend...got home late last night from an awesome (3) day show event..Spent this past Friday/Saturday/Sunday in Cortland, NY, for the 10th Annual National Brockway Truck Show, and the Twin Tier Chapter ATHS Truck Show..in Homer, NY. Homer, New York is where the "future" Brockway museum is being built/remodeled. Cortland NY, is where the actual Brockway Plant was located..learned alot this weekend. I original went up to support a "fellow" modeler ..some will recognize the (person's pictures) and was invited to participate in the annual parade..All I was expecting was to ride in the truck(s)..WELL, I wound up driving (2) of them..HOW cool was that. I drove the 361 (Greene/White) in the parade, and the 359 (Red/Single Axle) back to the museum for loading...Got to love the scream of the OLD Detroit's... Lots of pictures of both events...good reference material(s)..Enjoy!! Kurt http://public.fotki.com/turbo590/10th-annual-nationa/ http://public.fotki.com/turbo590/twin-tier-chapter-a/
  8. Guy's....It's been awhile... New project for 09... Well due to all of the recent "crappy" weather we have been receiving here in Western, PA...got some build time in..since my last post several weeks ago. There is a "long" way to go..tons of scratch building..BUT on this build, I wanted to incorporate some of the "3rd party" items found within Sourkraut's Model Trucks. Items from KFS, Auslowe, The Model Factory, GW Trucks, and Mo'Luminum to name a few.. I am in the chassis phase at the moment..getting everything properly aligned..will start working on the lift axle, and the Auslowe Cummins 600 engine shortly..Here are the first of many pictures to come....Thanks, Kurt Thank you to Tim Ahlborn...for Pete picture shown (Will be the color scheme of this piece) And truly for being a "great" friend.......and builder
  9. Tim, Another "fine" creation. Thank you for the "plug" on the decals...on the BMF decal paper? When did you get your batch? I had a batch not too long ago..that was horrible!! Would not lay correct..and "curled" real bad. Orange..HUH, real unique. May I ask..picking your brain again...what did you use for the bottom of your mirror mounts..onto the cowl? Thanks, Kurt
  10. Tim, We'll its about "time" for another dump truck build..this one will be "SWEET !!!!" I'd say go with the orange..you don see too many of those.... Look forward to seeing more... Kurt
  11. 5-1-09 Tim... 2 very nice builds indeed... Not a "big" WALMART fan, BUT the Hybrid/green is pretty cool looking. How did you do the decals for the door? Kurt
  12. Win... WOW...last time I saw this ..it was still in the box. Wife, as usual has a good eye for colors Truck looks great...having the trailer will only add to it... Kurt
  13. Jerry... No awards..People choice..the car(s) always win... Just a "great" show and tell. Kurt
  14. Guys..... Sorry..I couldn't post sooner..Just returned this past Sunday from attending the NNL East 23 in Wayne NJ. Below is a link to my FOTKI album that has a ton of pictures..I concentrated on the "trucks" especially. You'll see my 4 as usually. Huge turnout, met some of this and other "forum" members..Daniel from Plaskit, met up Dave Natale once again from AITM, Gary Wallace from GW Trucks..and good old Gregg from Model Car Magazine as he was taking pictures. Off to Maryland next..will post pictures.. Had to make a side trip into NYC prior to coming home..NEVER AGAIN!! Thanks, Kurt http://public.fotki.com/turbo590/nnl-east-23-wayne-n/

  16. 3-30-09 Dave....WELL its about time...you posted something...And when you do..It is AMAZING...great scratch building, and the 1/16th engine looks great too. Good to see you building...I enjoy seeing them.. Kurt
  17. Tim.. Another "Fantastic" build... How did you go about crafting the newer style "headlights" Note: Your paint chip book is going back in the mail this week. Thank you again..It was a big help... Kurt
  18. I think I have seen this one..in passing...HMMMM!! Kurt
  19. Bobby... Thanks for posting the pictures as always. Looks like a very good show/turnout. Jeremy did good!! Kurt
  20. Chris.... Great job indeed. All the "little" details come together. Kurt
  21. Tim, The changes you made on the Italeri hubs "makes" a big difference. Colors look great as well. Looking forward to seeing it done. Kurt
  22. Ryan... P/M me...I should have in my parts box on what you need. Kurt McLucas
  23. 2-15-09 Tim...Looking great as always... Are you going to do the "Walmart" door logo's?? You quoted in an earlier thread: I discovered Tower Paint from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They custom packed the Dupont color Viper Green into a spray can for me. I'm quite impressed at the ease the paint goes on. This is an amazing find...having custom automotive paint put into a rattle can...I'll take that anyday. The cost savings over the airbrush...and consistency Thank you Kurt
