It wasn't something I RECEIVED, but I cut the engine cover out of my Coyote-powered die-cast.

Good starts here! How long did it take to get the Revell Charger sanded smooth as far as that roof goes? I wanna build a G.L. with the Revell kit myself.
-
This kit is a definite custom/kitbash effort. In play here are side scoops from the 2006 Hertz kit, Resin 'Eleanor' style hood and side-window scoops from eBay. The wheel and tire treatment was donated from the 2010 Shelby Mustang kit, and the power is supplied by the supercharged 2007 Shelby kit. The unique nose is comprised of an upper-grille from the 2006 Hertz (also the California Special front bumper available from Ford) and the lower section of the nose is from the 2007 Shelby kit. I also extended the splitter since that nose was originally intended for a race-conversion build. The Interior is from the Hertz with '07 Shelby Cobra seats. The paint is Testors Ultraviolet Pearl, which is a 1996 Ford color, and wet-look clear.

That is so so nice, I love it. Super detail all over, great job!

Another member did one of these with a Viper roof if I remember correctly. His was more of a race conversion, and yours in street trim is awesome. Very nicely done. Roof flow is just perfect.
-
I agree, that's really really nice stuff.
-
I had one and the detail was so bland I never finished it. I traded it away for a box of parts. It's the only hardtop GT in scale, and maybe you can bash it with the new 1/25 Revell kit to build up a nice one, but I dunno.

Nice choice chuck, that sounds like it'll turn out to be a nice ride!

super build, just great stuff A+

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it! It's not too hard really Erik, I did mine with basic xacto knives and fairly primitive technique lol. The 06 kits are fairly inexpensive around the web now, and if you decide to do one let me know. I'm pretty sure I have some spare cone-style filters from the Hertz n Bullitt kits leftover if you want a spicier intake setup. Although using a 2010 hardtop guts may prove easier, but more costly a donor.

2015 Ford Mustang Snap Kit as a giveaway at NAIAS
Scuderia replied to carsntrucks4you's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Definitely looks cooler with a little more low, nice adjustment. I was considering grabbing one of these on the 'Bay but the listings I was viewing are all ended -
I agree, I found one super cheap on eBay but I don't know if / think any prior chassis pans will fit under it

Sweet Benz Luc. I got a 2011 'Stang GT die-cast to rob the wheels and cut-out the 5.0 engine cover.

Request to Dupe My Hood
Scuderia replied to Scuderia's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I don't think I've seen it on there but I'll ask them; thanks. It's Testors Model Master Ultraviolet Pearl (1996) It is a Ford paint apparently used mostly on Mercury Tracers lol -
I have a resin hood from RDSFX2 from eBay. He's long-gone except the FB page, and I'm not sure whom did the master or where else this piece came from. I'd really love to get a few copies. Any takers? This hood fits the 06 Mustang GT and Hertz Revell kits.

I like what Charlie did there, that makes sense and I think folks would pay attention. My daily driver is a 2002 Lincoln LS and I love it. It's engineering origins are shared with Jaguar which makes for some headaches, but 12 years ago it was special. It wasn't a jazzed up Ford. They have themselves to blame for Lincoln getting stale. Bring back the Town Car, Conti. and other vehicles that are actually SPECIAL.
-
Testors still makes those, and a couple other 'engine' colours in the square and round jars.
-
Thanks, I'm not good at measuring so it was a lot of trial and error and test-fitting lol. Appreciate it.
-
This one is the SnapTite release of the '10 convertible with a twist. The hood was cut out and and the chassis and engine from the 2007 GT Hertz kit was transplanted to turn it into a full-detail kit. It's a bit of a custom, with a two-tone interior treatment. Painters Touch Apple Red with Testors Wet-Look Clear.

Turned out super. and ya i have an 86 Monte notch that has been stripped 3 x now in almost three years and I dont know if i feel like continuing. But you made a real gem of this new boss I can't wait to get one good stuff!

not with testors but with the Perfect Match car paints in the cans. They have an 'adhesion promoter' in that line but haven't tried it.

I agree this is awesome. -
When I bought my Lincoln in 2010 I had enough cash to buy it AND fix my escort but I got rid of the escort. I miss that zippy lil thing.
