  1. The seat and dash fit the concept great. Looking forward to more.
  2. I agree that this is getting out of hand. If I, as a portrait artist, decide to draw a portrait of a very homely person and the outcome looks very much like the person, I would not be criticized for how this person really looks. John is just doing a replica as best he can (which he has admitted before that he is not a mechanic) and his skills are terrific. John- I believe the moderator was only talking about the 1:1 car, not your handiwork. Please continue to show us your builds. As was said before - Onward.
  3. It does not get any better than that. Fantastic work Dave.
  4. You got that right Gary. Looking forward to warm weather and more progress from Stump. An inspiring build.
  5. Fantastic John. Fantastic. What was that magazine on the dash?
  6. Not sure if this will help, but this is from a '79 funny car. The two levers are for the chutes.
  7. Can't wait to see more.
  8. Amen to that, and we're waiting to hear what you got to see at Firebird Raceway today. Wish I could have been there.
  9. Thanks guys. I appreciate it. Today I was fortunate enough to visit Bruce Larson's shop again to take a few photos that I had missed before and ask more questions. He is always willing to answer my dumb questions and give me full access to the cars. He was busy sorting some old photos to send to NHRA for an upcoming race in New Hampshire. They want to use the pics for promotional purposes. He said the new car just came out of the paint booth. Check it out at www.BruceLarsonUSA-1.com.
  10. It's time I got this funny car back on the front burner. I was distracted for awhile with a Pro Stock that I will post someday. I added the barrel valve and one of the fuel lines. I want to get this done in time for NNL East. I've never been to it and thought this might be a good entry. Thanks for looking.
  11. Looks great Niko. Always love seeing your builds.
  12. I agree with Chris - you are brave for making a big cut, but it looks great. Immaculate work. Looking forward to more.
  13. Great info Chris. Thanks for all the work you did.
  14. Looks great all around.
  15. The green is a nice change. My kit did not have those sink marks fortunately. Looking forward to more of your progress.
  16. Not sure if this is the exact same kit that I got at Michael's, but if so, check the blower to hood clearance. I used someone else's tip and added small strips of styrene to the bottom of the blower to raise it to a more realistic level. The 1:1 car has very little room between the engine and hood window.
  17. Looks great John. Love following your creations. Wish I lived closer to these contests that are mentioned. I would love to see your builds in person.
  18. This is excruciatingly cool !! I will definitely be following this. I agree with the P51 idea, but maybe mix in a little John Force with it ? Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be a keeper.
  19. That color looks great.
  20. Looks great so far. Looking forward to more updates.
  21. Yeah Rickard congratulations on your house. The scoop looks great. My stupid question of the day - would it have been easier to repair the top of the cage instead of building a new chassis? I've never done one from scratch so my inexperience is evident.
  22. Mr Geiger- my first thought is "I wish I had those skills and experience." But it is something we will never forget. A build that is a real journey. Keep 'em coming John and congratulations on the trophies won at the Roadster Show in Pomona.
