  1. Excellent additions guys. Thanks. kitswapper- I'll ask him why the MPC kit is incorrect since they sent him a prototype to approve.
  2. Here's the later Camaro as it sits in Bruce's barn now. He bought the body from someone who had repainted it years ago for a different car.
  3. Work ?? It was pure fun. I know what you mean. Wish all you guys could have been there.
  4. Hey tbusch- Bruce said the engineer that designed the two barrel valve idea was Tim Richards, Joe Amato's crew chief. He also answered my question about the A-arms. The drivers side is welded to the frame, and the pass side is attached with rod ends so they could adjust the stagger and run-in for staging. I had the opportunity to go back there today so I jumped on it. I will have more pics uploaded by Monday. Also- all the brake rotors they used were solid which was mandatory. I didn't know that. I was about to use vented ones on a kit I am building of that era. Now I know better.
  5. I got to spend over three hours at Bruce's place today, taking more pics, helping him fix a prototype model that he had built years ago, AND he asked me to help him push the Ivo dragster into the trailer. Then he drove the trailer around back where there is more room for the moving van to load it next week. We then unloaded it and he started it up !! It was awesome. When I get the photos off my camera, I will post them.
  6. Bruce says the 70 car was the same Logghe chassis as the 68 Camaro. In one of the pics I posted you can see the levers in the driver's area, to the right of the seat. The black knobbed lever was for the chute, the red lever in front of that was the fuel shut-off and the knob labeled "Air Heater" was actually connected to a primer pump instead of using a squirt bottle to prime the engine for starting.
  7. Count me in. I'll be watching what you do, and we all know it will be worth it. I will have more pics for your reference as soon as I can get them off the camera. I was at Bruce's again today for over three hours taking pics AND helping him fix the prototype of the 70 Camaro that he accidentally dropped. Fortunately most of the loose pieces were due to lack of glue or gluing areas that still had chrome. I got pics from different angles of the Camaro, Vette, and the Ivo dragster that I hadn't taken last time.
  8. Now you're just messin' with us...........this car actually converts from Camaro to Firebird and back again with the flip of a switch, right? Looks great holms. The lines are great.
  9. Can't wait to see more. I'm takin' notes.........
  10. The USA-1 Camaro has a Logghe chassis. More pics of it coming Saturday. Stay tuned.
  11. Sometimes an artist has to try doing the same thing with a different material to stretch himself or just to try it. I've done a lot of portraits in pencil and one day wanted to try in airbrush. To be honest, I don't know how much you've worked in brass, but I'm behind ya Rom. You're doing great.
  12. I agree with Mr Norgaard. Where are your priorities Chris? Ha.
  13. Hey guys, my pleasure. I feel somewhat obligated to feed you guys reference pics since I can't build the way you do. You guys share a lot of info and photos with us, this is how I can pay you back. I hope to return to his place next weekend to take more. Some guys have asked for certain shots of the USA-1 Camaro and asked questions about driver's controls that I'll have to ask Bruce about. It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it. Ha.
  14. Chris and Jim - Not good to hear that those kits were slow movers. I believe Bruce is hoping they will do the USA-1 Camaro AND Corvette. I know I would buy both. He told me that someone had been there one time and took extensive measurements to make a model, but wanted Bruce to pay several thousand $ to do it. He told me who it was, I can't remember who. I hope to go back to his place next weekend and I'll ask. I plan to write Revell and encourage them to make the kits. If enough of us make enough noise, they should realize it might be worth it.

Mixed. The driver is done in pencil, the cars in acrylic with airbrush and detail brush. Love the Groucho quote.
  16. Man, you guys are talking about blocks made from solid styrene and slippin' in cylinder sleeves, and I'm happy getting the right valve cover on the right head.
  17. Hey KB- I put two batches in the 1:1 Reference forum. I was really happy with the way they came out. The camera hasn't always seen eye-to-eye with me. Ha . I hope to go back over and get more detailed shots of the Camaro, Vette, and Ivo dragster, and get one of his t-shirts. While I was there, he showed me models that people had made and given him. Nothing like what Tyrone, J Teresi, Brad, Rom and other masters can do, but still very nice. I looked on ebay this morning and found one USA-1 Camaro for sale at $250.00 !! Wow.
  18. Tyrone- here's my 2 cents- it looks awesome.
  19. Oh Ted it was brutal torture. No man, I was like a kid in a candy factory. I need to get a bigger card for the camera. My other camera (film) had very low batteries and wouldn't work. I need to find out when the Ivo dragster ships to Indy and go get more pics before that. Also someone requested pics of the inside of the Camaro body. More torture. HA. While I'm there I'm getting one of his t-shirts.
  20. Ted- I wasn't sure if those oil pump pics would help or not. Good to hear they did. Bruce is a great guy. He was shining up the Ivo car and gave me complete access to his funny cars. I have more to post or I can email them to you. I couldn't get good photos of the side of the Vette FC because of its location in the basement, but got a couple good ones of the engine and rear window art. He lives not far, so I can go over and get more pics. He said the dual barrel valves were his mechanic's idea to pump more fuel into the engine.
  21. Man, wish I could've been there. Congrats John Teresi and all that won. Just watched Romell's slide show. Great coverage.

  23. These are the photos I took of his Sentry Olds funny car that he ran in 1989. Actually it is the backup/show car. The one he drove is in the Smithsonian. I took these photos with detail reference in mind. I wanted to see if there were front brakes, what levers there were in the driver's area, where the hoses ran, etc. If I run out of mb allocation, I will have to upload some to flickr and give you guys a link. I'm having trouble getting the link to work. Should get it soon...............
  24. He called back and answered my questions- 1. He sent photos of all his cars to Revell and is waiting to hear back. 2. It is the second saturday in November that he hosts the Drag Fest at his barn in Dauphin, PA, just north of Harrisburg about 12 miles or so.
