Nice truck to build. Years back there was a concrete outfit locally called Blue Circle owned by an English company. The trucks were a bright yellow with blue lettering
I was going through some stuff today and came across this box of parts. Looks to be a complete Chevy Titan C/O. Also the GMC instruction sheet and a complete turbine engine + all the turbine specific parts for the frame. Made my day
I wouldn't mind having a CB again, but with all the other distractions,Two touchscreen computers, rear facing cam, voice over ip on one of the computers and a company radio......too much for me.
The truck I drive for work has flaps in front of the steer tires, but not as big as the ones you have pictured. they help with rocks that are thrown off the steer tires. The tires on my truck have an open tread design and will easily flip a rock that is 3/4" diameter. At freeway speed those rocks can bounce out in front of you,if one hits just right and goes up in the air...you can hit them and pit or crack the windshield. In the pic you can see them behind the bumper........wish they were much larger
Here's one that I came across one day. The only warning is that the bridge is one lane....no weight limit signs or clearance warnings until you are at the bridge . I was 13 tall and grossing 76000
Turns out that is a sturdy old bridge that is 12' 3" wide
You guys have some fantastic builds going! The Pete is one of my old builds that needed work, the Aeromax 106 gave me fits and got put back in a box,the International was a gluebomb I acquired...has all the parts to make a neat daycab. Darn photobucket.......won't let me post pics
In regards to the wrecker models. I found them pretty straight forward to build. The wrecker in the Pete kit is very heavy, some have reinforced the frame or built something to hold it level. The KW wrecker body seemed to me to be a bit too wide,so I put that on a 1/24 Italeri truck...liked the proportions better. As for the tires....they are ok other than the front tires in the Pete are from a 1/16 scale car kit and say Goodyear GT Radial on the side wall. I enjoyed both kits.
I drove heavy wreckers for years. 99% of our towing was break downs. That sleeper comes in handy. After a long day around town, then getting a road trip...sure was nice to be able to pull over and grab a nap.
