  7. Had alot of fun building this..... original 1991 kit that was a 2pack with Dale Sr's Lumina Tamiya Chrome Yellow, with Tamiya Pearl mid-coat, and Testors MM Lacquer gloss clearcoat.. Powerslide Tire decals, and 2 and 1/2 sets of kit decals I added plug wires, but they are'nt even visible unless you look from underneath... let me know what you think!!!!
  8. I've really enjoyed your series luke. I love learning NASCAR history....
  9. thats interesting..wonder if the intake was shortened to fit the lumina hood height....
  10. well, i have now tried both the microscale and testors films.... i coated my original decals with the microscale, and atleast 50% still crumbled... got a new set of monogram decals from mikes decals, coated with testors, and it is working virtually flawless... not sure if the difference is the testors, or starting with better kit decals... i'll post up my results when im finished...
  11. i think you did a better job on your third model than i did on mine!!!
  12. ok, let me ask this...do the plug wires generally go thru the heat sheilds attached to the valve covers, or behind the engine and under the headers??
  13. how do you apply this stuff?? just bought some, but have never used it before.. its too thin for a toothpick... do you use some kind of applicator, or a brush??
  14. Thanks for the heads up!!! I knew they were working on a US version, but didnt know it had been finalized.....hopefully they have as much fun with it as clarkson, the stig and the rest do. now, only 3 more weeks until Jericho returns!!!!
  15. I'll give it a shot if I can find some MM brass, I never even knew they made it....
  16. this is for the gold anodized wheels on an '83 Bobby Allison stock car... Luke has suggested a paint, but its oop.. i tried tamiya transparent yellow over a spare rim, but it looks like anodized yellow...
  17. Holy Hell!!!! I never knew they even made decals for the 1/64 cars....wow!! Billy, if you come across an extra Clint Bowyer car (old style) in 1/64 from '07, let me know, a buddy needs one to finish his '07 set and cant find one..
  18. great builds and great history as usual Luke!! keep em coming!!
  19. looking good Michael.. I hadnt thought of using fabric black for the seat, thanks for the tip...
  20. I am building an original issue 91 pennzoil pontiac, and my decals are grenading on me... bought some testors decal film in the spray can, and some microscale decal film that brushed on... does anyone have a preference over the other, or does one work better??
  21. Jaime, who's the driver on that skoal aero coupe???
  22. cant wait to see some in progress shots!! I've almost got my pennzoil pontiac done, but got bit by the monogram decal sheets hand grenading on me when I tried to use them. got ahold of mike, and he has 2 sheets he's sending me for $3.00.... thankd again for turning me onto mikes decals, he is a class act!!!

    Days Of Thunder

Well, I followed your advice, and it worked great!! installed my painted wheels onto the tires, coated with duplicolor clear lacquer, installed my powerslide decals, used the dime trick, and coated with testors lacquer dullcote, and they look really good. its only been about 8 hours, so imagine they look even better in a few more hours...
