    Meet The Drivers

I stood in line once to meet Rusty Wallace for 2 hours, only to get 5 people away and have them close up the session... oh well... I've met a few drag racers, but havent met any NASCAR drivers yet...
  2. Great builds!! The Terry Labonte bud car is on my eventual list if I can find the decals...
  3. nice build Luke... I always enjoy learning some of the history of my favorite sport...
  4. vegas seems to be the place to go when you tired of the high cost of living in hawaii. alot of hawaiian transplants here. and no im not a member of any club, been meaning to check it out, but life hasnt given me the extra time to yet...
  5. NASCAR is still using carburators to this very minute... and I dont think the SB2 engine came out until the mid 90's, but i believe it should still be correct for your build steef....
  6. All this hawaiian talk reminds me of being a kid living on Oahu... I am so glad i found the L&L's here in vegas!!! Short rib plate lunch with heavy mayo macaroni salad.....mmmmmm. (dangit, now I'm hungry again!!)
  7. Luke, where did you find the MRC gold?? and is it a spray can or airbursh only?? that Miller Buick is actually my next build...
  8. just curious, I think we have enough nascar builders on here to make it work... especialli with all Billy's builds, the guys a building machine!!!
  9. I remember seeing a red one in a dealership in about '88 as a car fixated pre-teen and falling in love with them. how hard are parts to find to restore one???
  10. I am planning to get atleast 4, stock, drag, pro-touring, and hopefully a yenko 427 is decals are amde available...
  11. 1. dont mix enamel and lacquer....results are not good. 2. duplicolor and tamiya and testors lacquer are fine together, they are all lacquer.. 3. krylon and duplicolor/ tamiya dont mix either..... best advice is to stick with the same paint manufacturer until you get comfortable mixing them together, i.e., duplicolor clear over duplicolor paint, etc... I have personally used tamiya over duplicolor primer with no problem, and vice versa....and testors lacquer over duplicolor primer with tamiya clear on one project.
  12. great builds, you dont see too many AMc's built, wish someone would repop them.
  13. Luke, having recently returned to the world of NASCAR modeling( I'm a greysider), I enjoy your pics. Keep it up!!!
  14. my parents bought a brand new Plymouth Sapporo when we lived on Oahu, Hawaii in the early 80's..a cream yellow one..
  15. I finally got some pics of my IROC project....and yes, its a major project...
  16. the BIN is available in spray can, right?? I dont have an airbrush...
  17. I have a nascar kit, molded in yellow, that I am going to repaint yellow, using clear pearl top coat with a white base, do I need to seal it since its going back yellow??? I am using Dupli primer and sealer, dupli bright white, and tamiya yellow and pearl... also, does anyone if the BIN sealer that has been touted on the board lately is compatible with any paint, and where can I get it??
  18. Revell USA, and sometime in '08
  19. guys, I've got a window that i cant find a replacement for that has a tire mark in it. I have an LMC polishing kit and the Novus, can someome run me through the steps to polish it out...
  20. thats is an outstanding build!!!
  21. I actually had the same happen with the original release revell AAR.. bought it when I was about 13, partially built it, painted it and screwed up the paint, sanded the old paint off, and ended up throwing it in a shoe box in my closet. 10 years later, as i was collecting some boxes of my childhood stuff from my parents after i got married, i found it, repainted and finished it.
  22. thats correct, the GSX name is a GM trademark, while the Trans Am is owned by SCCA and licensed to GM for use on the car.
  23. thanks for the heads up. that half of what i was buying on evilbay was donor kits...
  24. I am picking up some older 80's and early 90's monogram nascar kits off Evilbay, and I am also getting all the model king reissues and I was curious what companies besides slixx are offering decals for sale over the internet. links would be appreciated.
  25. Ron, I'm swapping the 440+6 into mine for the buildoff as well, did you get the exhaust figured out???
