  1. Annoying more than anything...arthritis in both hands flaring up, apparently with the cold weather snap. I guess using them for hammers all those years wasn't the best possible thing to do. But who knew? And another thing...clueless resellers of built-up models slathering gloo all over them "repairing" loose parts. Really? You think gloo smears and globs and runs and fingerprints make a once-nicely-built model more valuable / salable than putting the loose stuff in a baggie? And hey...if you're going to put tape and price stickers on a model, don't put it over paint or decals...mmmmkay? And if you have to put price stickers on a vintage kit box, use a few brain cells and put it under the box, NOT on the printed parts that have display-appeal to collectors, using tape that can't be removed without damage. Common sense is in increasingly short supply. I like pie. ?
  2. "Car" is used by a lot of folks referring to anything with 4 wheels (more or less), and it drives me nuts.
  3. Just saw Wrath of Man. If you like Jason Statham, a twisty plot that keeps you wondering, and aren't turned off by extreme violence it's great.
  4. Finest whiskeys come from Kentucky, Ireland, and Scotland, but there a few great ones from Japan too.
  5. "FREE BIRD!!!!!!!"
  6. Days may come and days may go but "the customer is always right" is a philosophy that comes from long ago in pre-Karen times.
  7. There's a joke about horticulture and thinking in there somewhere...
  8. I've rigged so many shady vehicles just to get 'em home, I could write a book on the wrong...but effective...ways to do things.
  9. Nice models. I know it's popular to hate on PT Cruisers, but I really like them. They're fuel-efficient, they ride nice, they're quick enough and handle well enough to be fun to drive, and they're comfortable and practical on long trips. Only downside is some unnecessarily difficult maintenance procedures (the required timing belt replacements in particular), and the fact so many were made, kinda like Mustangs, that you used to pass yourself coming and going. It would seem the majority have been junked by now though, because the cost of doing the T-belt got to the point it exceeded the value of the vehicles, and the lowballers just drove 'em until they quit. But like Mustangs, they were different and cool for their time period, and good ones will most likely begin to increase in value as they become "rare".
  10. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
  11. "I think, therefore I am"...I think.
  12. Underground is the domain of the Morlocks.
  13. Room for Jello there always is.
  14. Line dancing used to be a big thing 'round here, but most of the C&W bars and clubs are long gone, replaced by almond-flavored soy frappuccino emporiums serving things like vegan imitation free-range escargot, that play monotonous depressing music and don't take cash under any circumstances. https://culinarywitch.com/vegan-escargot-escarnon
  15. Yesterday I accomplished less than I'd planned, so today I'm trying to make it up.
  16. Satin of white at night is the subject of a song by the Moody Blues.
  17. I had no idea, none zip zero period, but I'm getting the faintest glimmer now... EDIT: AHA!!! I found heem. Just have to double check... EDIT 2: PM'd
  18. Moving on, the "pot calling the kettle black" seems to be a lot of what makes the "news" these days.
  19. Hmmmm...I knew what it was, but recalling a tricky maneuver some time ago where something visible in the interior...something like bench seats or buckets IIRC...determined the year or model of the vehicle, and after my research pulled this car up with factory head restraints on the rear seat, and going down the rabbit hole trying to determine what year the rear-seat head restraints started...I forgot all about getting back here in time. Looks like my hesitation was entirely unnecessary, as the entire '69-'77 production is the "right" answer. Oh well.
  20. "Situation" is what all the movie tough-guys say they have when they really mean "I'm in deep poo".
  21. Now will be before in just a little while, but by then it'll be too late.
  22. Relaxing and tuning-out all the worldly noise is good for the soul.
  23. The great thing about procrastinating on straightening out your records is that if you put it off long enough, you can just throw it all out.
