  1. Version one and version two of the same basic design are sometimes very similar, differing only in detail.
  2. Walk the walk if you talk the talk.
  3. You just have to wonder sometimes...
  4. I like pretty much everything on their menu. I usually get the Nachos BelGrande, and a couple of burritos or tacos or whatever appeals at the time. I could eat their stuff every day, that and Indian from the new place around the corner, and the really good authentic Mexican place nearby, but if I ate any of it as often and as much as I'd like, I wouldn't be able to waddle up my steps in a few weeks.
  5. This is not within my area of first-hand knowledge, but two things come to mind immediately. 1) There are several good reference sites out there where you can get a pretty good "eyeball" feel for the size of the respective frame members, and find more relevant info. Here's a couple: https://bangshift.com/bangshiftapex/random-car-review-the-chrysler-kit-car-program-the-original-saturday-night-special/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/908438682612373/ 2) The frame acquires very significant additional rigidity with the addition of the roll cage and body, so the strength of a full frame that would have to carry all the torsional and bending loads on its own isn't required in the bare rails. EDIT: Looks like the Dec. 1973 issue of Stock Car Racing magazine did an article too. It's available on eBay.
  6. People using words incorrectly, often pronouncing them wrong, apparently trying to look "smart". I just heard a news interviewer say "denneymois" meaning "denouement". It didn't make him seem smart. EDIT: Sure, it's a small thing. But in this case it goes back to doing the job you're paid for. If you get PAID to use English in front of millions, get the words right.
  7. I had Taco Bell, first time in over a year here. My local has been drive-through only, the lobby having been closed since the panic over the flulike-Chinese-illness-that-cannot-be-named. I don't do drive-through, preferring to walk in if I get fast food...which is VERY infrequently anyway. After stopping by the hardware store for a 4-40 tap, a small countersink, and some suet cakes for the birds, I crossed the street on the off chance the doors at Taco Bell would be open once again. Halleluiah!! The rain clouds parted and a sunbeam lit my way. I got a bag full and went home to stuff myself.
  8. Sledgehammer work will build your deltoids, biceps, and pecs.
  9. "Director of Operations" is also known as "the big cheese".
  10. Cathedra bees what they shoves up you when you can't go...or it bees a big church.
  11. "Being from hell" aptly describes my last ex.
  12. Meat cleavers always remind me of Beaver Cleaver.
  13. Unfortunately, rather a high percentage of cosmetic surgeons seem to be the medical equivalent of Bad Chad, as far as their judgement of what "looks good" goes. Give this bozo a scalpel and pay him the big bucks.
  14. Equipment and tools for real-thing fab and restoration work are the largest investment I've made over the last 5 decades.
  15. "Fortune favors the bold", so the saying goes.
  16. Some years back, I made a resolution to stop making resolutions. It's been remarkably easy to keep.
  17. Behavior modification therapies are parodied in the film A Clockwork Orange.
  18. Experience is only valuable if you stop doing the things you learn have negative outcomes.
  19. List of people who got it...like me?
  20. Damm. Damm damm damm. At least I guess he was living with intensity at the time. Always something to be said for that.
  21. Decision making is difficult for those who need someone to tell them what to do.
  22. I'd second the Airfix 1/24 kits. There's tons of info on the web, like https://imodeler.com/2019/06/airfix-1-24-north-american-p-51d/ Trumpeter also has a 1/24 Mustang...(and at least two in 1/32) The Trumpeter kit is not without issues though... http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Fea1/601-700/Fea666a-P-51-Spitaels/00.shtm
