  1. Propane-fueled radiant heaters of similar and quite different designs are in wide use today too, particularly on construction sites, outdoor restaurant and bar decks, and in shops. Some underprivileged soul recently helped himself to the one that lived on my front porch.
  2. Nobody shot any of my cars, or stole gas out of my truck, or ran off with anything from the front porch for some time now. Maybe the human skull spiked to the front door is having the desired effect.
  3. CLICK HERE FOR THE OFFICIAL PAGE: https://saltflats.com/ Video below of the state of the salt two days ago. (Warning: the narrator is kinda like if your grandmother was an old fat guy who knows pretty much nothing about anything, but flies a drone and makes videos; seems to be a nice fella though...)
  4. Hill-climb racing takes a lot of skill and intestinal fortitude.
  5. "Denominator" is one of those words that has no clear meaning to, probably, 50% of any given audience.
  6. Excellent indeed. Makes me want to try something kinda similar.
  7. Diet and exercise can have significant beneficial health effects, have been documented to reverse some diseases, and can help one stay fit and productive well into old age.
  8. Mantra repetition is said to have quantifiable health benefits.
  9. "Change is the only real constant" said the fella who thought he was real smart, but change just for the sake of change is generally wasteful and counterproductive.
  10. I wake up to news stories of loony tunes every morning with coffee...
  11. Kinda horrible slush-cast mess...but it's a start, I guess.
  12. Creatures like dust mites might not be considered beautiful.
  13. Looks great. Congrats on finishing something. Someday I may know how that feels.
  14. Cyanoacrylate makes a good field patch on some small wounds.
  15. Oh man...loving this build. So fine to see somebody working hard to get the mechanical details right, and doing such a clean job in the process.
  16. Beautiful models, especially the first one. I could easily fall down the rabbit-hole of collecting diecasts. Really need to keep myself on a short leash.
  17. States of mind have profound effects on one's ability to accomplish anything, or hold a job, or keep a relationship together.
  18. Seein' as how R2 already has pretty OK tooling for the 5W, it would make much more sense for them to either do a corrected 2dr sedan shell to fit the existing 5W fenders and hood, and/or do a 3W coupe likewise. Revell's obvious slam-dunk to get more mileage from their recent model A kits with the '32 rails would be to tool a '26-'27 roadster body shell, as that's always been and still is a very popular combo for traditional rods.
  19. Ummm...no. The proportion and line discrepancies between a stocker and the kit are screamingly obvious to me. A lot of folks in and around this hobby seem to have some difficulty comparing and contrasting...but Mr. Gaffney may also have said what he said to avoid p-ing off an advertiser in the mag by being critical of the kit. Those things happen in the real world.
  20. Interesting thing about scanning to reverse-engineer long gone kits...where resin archival copies (or at least stable copies) of long-ago warped-beyond-recognition or crumbled-to-dust acetate promos exist, even those could be brought back in styrene. I've paid what many would consider insane money to acquire a few Modelhaus resin models of promo subjects that haven't been available for decades, and if they were available as styrene repops, I'd buy multiples. But again, the target demographic that would buy models of cars from the 1950s is shrinking daily, so it's time to get on the stick if it's going to happen.
  21. Interesting project. I've often wondered about the quality of that Flintstone unit, so I'm doubly interested in your progress.
  22. "Idiot" once was a clinical classification of psychological/mental development, being the lowest rung on the ladder, below imbecile, and then moron; the terms today are, for the most part, conversationally interchangeable, and sure to be found offensive by some of the thin-skinned among us.
