Dented Spray Can Safety?
Ace-Garageguy replied to Ferbz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yes...however, a dented can with a split seam could conceivably vent the pressure and not bulge. One would like to think that people are smart enough to not eat something from what would probably be an obviously leaking can, or that stank as badly as the contents probably would...but you know...Tide Pods. -
Orbie is an awards program for technology executive recognition in the United States, a line of hair products, a cartoon character (or several), and probably a dessert topping/floor wax too.

Game changers are the guys who come out of left field, tackle new problems or move the goalposts, and cause other players to drop the ball...which is as many sports-related metaphors I could squeeze into the sentence.

What Did You Have for Dinner?

Nothing but a box of strawberries. -
I first saw the glass-bead-blaster method used by a European heavy truck modeler, and have been very happy with it. Doug Whyte's method is also tops. And I've used a paste made from Comet and a toothbrush to dull sidewalls for many years, and sanded drag-slick treads with 180 since I was a kid. Real tires aren't shiny unless they've had Armor All slathered all over them, and new ones are definitely "glossier" than older ones, and recently made tires, when new, are shinier than old bias-plies from the '50s were when new. So it's every-job-is-different for me.

1/24 Otaki Lambo Cheetah, for about 15% of the average online asking price. Typical light-on-detail older Japanese motorised kit, but as the actual Cheetah prototype was powered by a Chrysler 360 V8, getting some reasonable guts under it shouldn't be too hard. 89AKurt built a hot-rod version of it some time back.

That makes as much sense as saying Henry Ford took all the credit for what his company did. The fact is that in BOTH cases, neither Ford nor any of Musk's companies would exist without them. Founding CEOs, though they rarely do that much of the actual grunt work, are the ones with the vision and whatever it takes to get investors and competent help to achieve the vision. Much as the Musk haters love to put him down, he's accomplished more than probably any individual human who's ever lived. Don't get me wrong: I'm not a Musk fanboy. There's plenty he does I'm not on board with. But I also acknowledge real leadership when I see it, and again, though his employees do the real engineering etc., not a da.. one of them could have achieved what Musk has...or somebody would have by now.

Where is it made?
Ace-Garageguy replied to Jon Cole's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm right there with ya. I was looking at my collection the other day and realized I have way more than enough stuff to open a very well stocked static model and HO-scale train store. Kinda thinking that maybe after I get all the 1:1 projects done and start modeling full time, opening a hobby shop might be a fun way to meet people, make friends, and introduce younger folks to physical hobbies. -

If it was canned food, eating it might be a little risky. Paint? Nah. -
