Ohio Girls was never a Beach Boys song, though they did mention midwest farmers' daughters and northern girls.

Model building on youtube.

That wasn't at all what I said, but if you choose to interpret my words that way, that's your choice. -
Did you say you had to use every part in the box to consider a model finished, even all the optional stuff (like I did when I was 8)?

What Scared the Heck Outta You Today

Yup. Made a real mess. We got him tied off quick with a piece of wire and a screwdriver. The paramedics got there fast, just happened to be in the neighborhood when the call went out. He didn't want to work on cars anymore after that... -

Glad it wasn't a lot worse. I know the feeling well. Worst "almost" one ever happened to me...I was draining a fuel tank, was under the vehicle on stands, gasoline was splattering a little as I got the drain rig setup right, my shirt was wet with gas...some fool threw a string of firecrackers under the car, then ran away laughing. Thankfully no fire, and I did not "keep calm". At all. PS: And yeah, I've set myself on fire one or two times too. It's amazing how careful we get over time. The work isn't "dangerous" if your mind is fully engaged, but it is otherwise. Guy who was working for me using a big electric grinder with an 8" 40-grit disc (removing a load of old bondo on a 356 Porsche) had an attention lapse and managed to cut his femoral artery. Couple inches higher, he would have been singing soprano. -

What Scared the Heck Outta You Today

No. It was just severe pain in my gut that came out of nowhere and doubled me up. Other symptoms I'll not go into, but as usual for me, it went away on its own after a couple days rest. -
I'm glad for you, and understand your point. Unfortunately, all my local hardware stores are staffed by people who are just as clueless as the typical big-box employee, either kids who don't know which end of a hammer to hold, or well-meaning retires who know a little more, but not much. EDIT: I don't mean to be unkind, but it's a good life-skill to have to be able to go get the correct fasteners for any project without having to rely on store help that as often as not give you the wrong stuff.

"In time for the next pandemic panic" is why I'm buying another 20,000 rolls of TP, because bird-flu is ramping up in the media.

"Vacation" is a concept I hope to revisit in not too much longer, after 4 years, and even that last one was a "working vacation".

Yup, good proportions, the flow of the roofline looks good, and it appears to be symmetrical in most of the shots. Those three areas are where chops go bad, on real cars as well as models.

Those small 3V bulbs are known as "grain of wheat" or "grain of rice" bulbs (depending on their actual size), were hobby staples for decades, and are still widely available online (you can paint them if you can't find red ones). https://www.ebay.com/itm/203486309762 EDIT: Yes, you could replace all of them with red LEDS, but unless you know a little about power supplies, battery boxes and batteries, voltmeters, and low voltage DC electricity, you're probably better off just staying with the small incandescent bulbs. As Harry said, any well-stocked hardware store should have exactly what you need in screws. Just take a sample to match up. You can also usually find clear packages of small screws at big-box home stores. Again, take a sample to match up. A word of advice building that kit...be very sparing with glue when assembling it, especially the clear parts. Excessive glue on the engine block really ruins the appearance of these models.

Not today but late Saturday PM while working on the DeLorean. Thought I might be needing to go to the ER, went home, crawled under the covers, and whatever it was went away on its own with a little extra rest over the last coupla days. Everything A-OK now. -
Nice little Welly 1/24 1937 W125 Mercedes. Remarkably cheap, with several concessions to price (like the grille details printed on a sticker), but well finished and proportioned...with steering that works from the steering wheel! The wire wheels are injection molded plastic, a little heavy-spoked, but very similar to Revell's old dragster and parts-pack wires. The tires are particularly nice, are just what I've wanted to upgrade some Merit kits, and are easily worth what I paid for the whole model. I'd really like to open the hood and find it an engine, but it's too nice to hack up, so I'll probably buy another one to pull molds from at some point. If you happen to want one of these, bear in mind that most of the really inexpensive ones are 1/36 scale.
