Lowlife ! !

The roof pillars are for reference only, going to change them later. I also added a temporary floor so I could cut the doors out.... Now looks like this, with a suicide door (did the other one later...) More soon.........

I do remember seeing a new bug before similar to this, so im not taking credit for all the design here, but from memory I liked the look so this is where it started ! First thing was the bodywork, and I wanted to change the front end. Looking through my spares I found a Viper front end which I thought might work...... It was too narrow, and the top needed modifying, so I cut it up ! Needed widening so it was cut in half too... And fitted in, with a bit of filler...... More soon.......

I found this 350z which I thought would be cool to mix the bug with.... So after some chopping about I ended up with this...... More soon.....

Been on here for a while but this is my first WIP, this is a bit of a long term project and im quite a way through it, but stalled recently so Im hoping for a bit of inspiration to finish it ! Ok, the plan was to find something ugly and make it look cool, I need more practice with bodywork so this had to be a bit radical, and I like to design unusual cars.. I started with this........ ( with a fairlane was it? modern interior, 2 tone paint, purple and something...) I know you gave Mr Ross some competition that day.... Yeah I used to enter those too, and we used to chat at shows sometimes............. Anyway love the galaxie mate, glad to see you on here, your still jus as good at the models, if not better..... Looking good so far, nice to see lowrider`s getting built. As for the windscreen surround are you making a hard top, or is it a removable carson top ? You need a frame if the tops removable, if its going to be a fixed roof then you can make up a frame how you want !! .. Hope this helps...... ..... Lowlife ! !

I love the way you word this, `should look somewhat ok ` ???? That's crazy detailing, absolute perfection coming together....Do you know how these parts should look, or is this down to good research ? I wouldn't have a clue what a clutch linkage looked like.... ...... . Keep at it mate, looking forward to more........ Lowlife ! !

This was a big project for me, ive always liked Lowriders and wanted to go all-out and build something a bit wild. It was very enjoyable build, over 2 years in fact, and stretched any building talents I have to the max !! Heres a quick list of modifications and pics, as always comments always welcome and thanks for looking in ...... ...... Lowlife ! ! Flip front, bonnet split from cowl area and cowl smoothed in. Suicide doors, split bonnet opening, targa style roof, shortened boot with rear part blended in and split opening, light surrounds smoothed in, smoothed badges and door handles etc, part scratch built interior, Tamiya brake details, Pegasus wire wheels. Chrome is either Alclad spray, bare metal foil or chrome card from an Easter egg box !! Paint is nail varnish, then flake, then clear, transfer stripes and hand painted graphics...

Yep that's another piece, now perfect !! Enjoying every step of this, keep up the great work...... ....Lowlife ! !

Nice start on the Stang, what`s `simple green` is this another floor polish type ??? If it works ok could you please explain how to apply them, ive heard of using these but have no idea what to do...... ...... Thanks.. Lowlife ! !

Sorry to all you Ford fans, but I couldn't think what else to do to it... Lots of melting and bending of plastic, aftermarket front disc details, rubbish and spare parts, all hand painted in enamel ! I built a little diorama for it , but their harder than they look ! Thanks for looking, comments welcome....... Lowlife ! !

Ive been viewing on this site for a while now, thought id post up a couple of older builds of mine..... ..... Saw a bug like this at a show and it inspired me to try one. The interior was immaculate, smoothed out engine bay, slammed on the floor with crusty paint ! Getting a Tamiya kit this low was hard, its rear wheels were angled (as the real bug were) and chrome wheels added... Comments etc are more than welcome ! Thanks for looking......... Lowlife ! !

Sorry guys I guess you probably get asked this a lot, but why cant I upload pics from photobucket ? I watched the video on here, I tried adding a link in the photo box and into a message, ive tried copying Direct, HTML and IMG links and nothing works.....
