Lowlife ! !

Jim, Mike, thanks guys ! And Jacob, bear in mind this is 1/16 scale so the detail is fairly good already ! I only spent time cleaning up any joints, then added the metal valve cover clips and black washed the details in. As far as advice goes, try utube or flickr etc etc and search for pictures or videos of what your building, copying real engine pictures are the best way to get the details right and will help you out more than I ever could ........... I will be adding to this soon, and will show each step, so hopefully this will help you too ! I hope this does help you out, anything else just let me know ! Lowlife ! !

Thanks guys, ( and I will take extra care with the doors thanks Dominik ! ) Slowly piecing the engine together, I was watching some utube clips on 1951 beetle engine builds, so im following this, and am going to try and add a bit more detail to the little lump ! The covers should have a single bar which is molded in on the kit, so I removed this and added metal pieces instead. Painted up the main parts (except the gearbox which is a temp handle to hold the engine with ! ) The next bits are more fiddly but should be fun ! More soon......... Lowlife ! !

Picked this up recently ( from Doomcrew on here, cheers mate! ).... ..... Its Revells 1/16 VW Kafer... For some reason I cant find a single kit that has been completed on these forums, it looks a great kit, so I will let you know how it goes together... Im not going mad with this, but its got to be slammed ! ! Still looking around for wheels and tyres although I have some that I may use... Possibly going for some more accessories too, roof rack, that kind of thing ! Pics soon as Ive just started the engine......... Lowlife ! !

Wow I must admit im not a big fan of the early corvettes but I love what you've done with this. Subtle mods but what a huge difference, the new chassis / interior setup is spot-on and will really make this car ! Keep it up, im looking forward to more ! .... .... Lowlife ! !

Hey Mike I jus been catching up with progress, looking great ! I think you build cars the same as me, have an idea then go with the flow ...... ...... Then change things, throw bits away and redo them, all good fun eh Can I make a suggestion ? I like the grill design now, but how about fitting the surrounds then smoothing them in ? Then jus add the mesh ? Your repainting the car anyway...... Whatever you do keep it up im following along......... Lowlife ! !

Tim, WOW, what else can you say ?????? Its incredible you can work in this scale and achieve this much detail... Must be the most accurately detailed model ive ever seen, it takes time yes but worth every second ! Wow just found this one and im super Impressed........ ...... Its havin a bad effect on me keep wondering into the race car section, looking at builds like this, and cars from Codi and Chris have got me wanting to build one..........Im a Lowrider kind of guy ive never built a pro anything, but im thinking of making one now ...... ....... Could you answer a couple of questions for me? Please don't think im picking holes in your build, its just I will be using ideas from here for mine. Id like to do a twin turbo set up such as this, is there any kits available that come with them or should I order a couple of turbos ? The plumbing, how come it runs through the front suspension, cant you fit springs now ??? And where do you find those photo etch bolt heads, they look great ! One last one, do you build the entire cage separate to the body so you can paint it ? Thanks for showing this, a great looking car, cheers mate ...... ...... Lowlife ! !
