  1. Must admit I saw this WIP and got as far as seeing what kit you was using, and then left, cos I thought you was doing it standard..... Its harder to get these things to look funny than it is to replicate an original, this is Fantastic..... Love it to bits, you absolutely nailed this, the best compliment I can think of is it looks like an out-the-box cartoon build ! ! Great stuff, Ive even read the WIP now too ! ..... ..... Lowlife ! !
  2. Hey Cody , the T birds coming along great.... ... Can I suggest something here, just finish a couple of kits first. Detail wiring, brake lines, photo-etch etc etc are great additions AFTER you got the basics sorted out.... Get a couple finished first, straight out the box. Learn to spray, look at each build and see what you did wrong and then try and get it better on the next build..... Just don't rush in and expect to build a show winner, this hobby takes practice so take your time mate ! ! Good luck ......... Lowlife ! !
  3. Wow this is outrageous .......... ......Just been back to read the build up, I LOVE this.......... Everything from the hub-less wheels to the wild transfers, that's also a LOT of bodywork and it just looks so Wild ! ! Looking out for more of your builds now, great stuff........... Lowlife ! !
  4. Love it, love it, love it............ .......... Really nice job, love those twin aerials ............ ............ Lowlife ! !
  5. Confused.......Are you brush painting or spraying ??? ( Just a tip, its always a good idea to test paint on something first, lot of people use cheap white plastic spoons......) Bit more information and we can help ........... Lowlife ! !
  6. Love this car, gotta build one myself one day...... Really nice job, engine looks all the better for the 300c parts. Was it a 57 or 58, I remember in the film, George LeBay states ` my a$$hole brother bought her, September 57, that's when you got your new model...` (or something like that ! ) So its a 58 bought in 57 ??? Nice job anyways ......... Lowlife ! !
  7. Nice looking Regal, bout time there was more lowriders on here....... ....... Murals are amazing, did you get the undies etc chrome plated or is that spray?? Look forward to more ....... Lowlife ! !
  8. Looking good, I love the red colour..... Cool wheels too, try taking out the bottle and then set the car up, Slammed ....... ...... Should look great with the two tone, look forward to more on this.......... Lowlife ! !
  9. Coming along nicely, think you got the chop spot on...... Could you use smaller wheels / tyres? would help lower it too. I built a bug and its hard to get them low, just an idea, it looks great keep the pics coming...... Lowlife ! !
  10. Nice mustang Pat, I built one years ago and the decals were a nightmare ! ! Cool little man-cave too, think that's very reasonable and is ideal for your needs. Keeps the lady happy too, no glue marks on the dinning room table eh ??....... Lowlife ! !
  11. Thanks Eric, looks like you have a cool Impala there, have you built a replica of it before ? Get on with the Monte kit too, we need more Lowriders on here....... ..... Lowlife ! !
  12. Al, Mike, Bill, and Lizardlust, appreciate it guys, thanks....... Shane, Yes pick up some thin foam sheets, they do cool felt as well. Using a very thin tube, press into the felt to create buttons. You can lightly score a groove between each button with a knife to create folds, its a bit trial and error but works well. I line up a ruler and then punch buttons along a line, maybe 5mm apart, then move the ruler up and do another line etc etc... Hope this helps mate........ Lowlife ! !
  13. Really nice job so far, love the new wheels.... Its good to hear your making your own stuff too, the details look spot on ! Nice to see this thing slammed a bit, look forward to more ! Lowlife ! !
  14. Thanks Joe, and Shane it wasn't me that did the tutorial.... ...... But I have done a few myself..... ..... So hopefully I can help if you like....... ...... If this pic is what your after, im happy to answer any questions etc you may have. Thanks for the reply too mate........
  15. I found a couple of early paint pics too, hard to capture the right colour of this car, it changes ! ! So thought id post these up too ! ! Thanks again.........
  16. Wow thanks everyone for replies, very much appreciated.... DaveM.... I hope some of you will be inspired to try one, as you mentioned an old skool fleetline heres mine........
  17. Looking great as usual Chris, but you got me confused ! Looking at the real one above, it looks like the shifter plunger connects to the chrome steering part, at the front, via the bar with holes in ?? Compare the mock up with your engine fitted and the plunger looks to be below that bar.... So will it still fit like this or is it the camera angle ?? ( does this make sense ??? ) Im not picking holes mate, its just the plunger looks too far forward ??? Keep up the great work....... Lowlife ! !
  18. Now that's a paintjob....... ...... you can stick shiny paint, this ROCKS ! ! Perfect stance, wheels, engine, great job im loving this, .............Lowlife ! !
  19. Sorry its been awhile with any updates, and thanks again for the comments...... With the bug now on a rolling chassis im getting back to the bodywork, a primer coat showed how much more I need to do....( Also with the rain and snow I cant even paint primer...) So as soon as I feel there`s something to show you all I will be back ! ! Started another project too based on a 409 Chevy, might post that up soon.......Thanks guys..... Lowlife ! !
  20. Cool, you got my attention.... Love the pickup that's a really unusual idea for a bug, ( cant help wondering if you might be better off starting with the Tamiya beetle kit, its a lot nicer than those Revell versions...) good luck with it anyway, im gonna be watching along ! ! Lowlife ! !
  21. Really nice job on the fairlane, good job..... ........ I know the feeling well, building stuff that no-one else gets to see, but this forum is great for showing your builds and getting tips and ideas..... PS...There`s no excuse, you got an audience now, so were waiting for another build from you ! ! Lowlife ! !
  22. Looking good, you got no 40 fenders you could try, or 37 ford may look cool ? look forward to more ! Lowlife ! !
  23. So there functioning, and adjustable springs........... Cant get my head around the fact this is 1/25 scale....... Wow, let me go lay down ill get back to you......... Lowlife ! !
  24. Chris , Thanks for showing the el Camino , I used to be jealous of your Vega build, now im jealous of your real car too........ ....... ( Jus kiddin mate, awesome Chevy its a beast alright... ) and great progress on the engine too. Love the colour on the blower and valve covers, polished ally effect is perfect ! I know you probably wish this and that was finished, but hey enjoy the build, we certainly are. Perfection takes time, your building THE most accurate replica of this car on the planet, so no-ones rushing you. When you finish it your appreciate every moment you spent on it, but im still looking forward to more progress, its a fantastic project ! ! Martin.
  25. Great progress as usual Chris, that's a great result for Alclad I thought for a mo you had it chrome plated !! Got to ask what`s the 1:1 beast lurking in your garage ?? ( Is this why its taking so long to build the Funny Car ????? ) Keep at it mate...... Lowlife ! !
