Sure did. Looks great! I like the Riviera like look to this one.

I think I have finalized the majority of the paint on both cars. Here they are in mock-up form. I will add a bit to the back story of the paint later on, but in short, I saw J 555, a rebodied Weyman Torpedo Phaeton at the ACD museum in maybe 1988-9 when I was there for the ACD Festival. It was pouring down rain so many of us decided to head inside the museum instead of watching the Parade of Classics. That was a good decision as J 555 was inside. A beautiful car with Monell exhaust and rust colored upholstery, it was a sight to behold. My blue car will be a tribute (thought not an exact replica) to J 555. The white car is painted to resemble the Indy 500 winning race cars of the mid 1920's.

This is great. I can't let my kids see it or id be out buying a 3d printer tomorrow. Come to think of it, if my wife told me to build it... Excellent work. It made my day.

This is a very impressive set. Its hard to add to the accolades except to say I too wish I had such a pool of talent!

I stand corrected. I stand by the notion that both the Dodge Brothers and Henry Ford would have approved of Pats fine model.

Like everyone else i keep waiting for updates with baited breath. This is a really outstanding piece of work...in a good way!

This is going to be good. I like it.

You are looking at the on-deck circle!

Here is the mockup of the other car...which obviously would be disqualified for TROG if it showed up there. Has anyone else discovered the Testor's Model Master "Deep Sea Blue?" That is the color of the car (which I failed to notice was a bit out of focus). I am telling you, coming out of the gun it is absolutely stunning. The model needs another light sanding and a couple more coats of the blue but my initial reaction was "WOW, what a color." Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

This is fabulous. I really like the background diorama! For some reason blue just looks "right" on these cars. Well done.

I still need to do a bit more work on the paint but wanted to have a look at the racing version of the Torpedo in mock-up form. I think it is coming along pretty well so far. Lots more to do but I am hoping to have at least one done by month's end.

My take on the "Hot Rod Lincoln" - DONE, I think...

Very good! Thats one cool looking rod. -
That looks like it was worth the wait. Very nice!

I have the first couple coats of paint on this one. I have a little more body work to do before the final coats of paint go on. While this looks pretty gray in the photo in actuality it is more of an antique white. I am also working on building up a dual carb supercharger. I will have photos of that up tomorrow.

Wow. That's stunning. We did a 1:1 in the shop in those colors, but like the OP model it was a DSM car.

Yes. That's what I've always done with my 1:1 cars. -
I like this one a lot. Lets see it done!

That came out very well. What's next?

I finally got back on this last night with mixed results. I have done some work on the interior and feel like I am making good progress. I have also fitted the induction mechanism (it slipped off in this photo and have started work on the dual carb supercharger. The body has its first coat of paint but it is too white and not ivory enough so I need to re-shoot it. So...some progress.

The AMT wires are pretty bad IMHO. No crime would be done omitting them.

No problem with the diversion. I believe all Duesenberg material is good Duesenberg materiial. I also plan to use pirated Danbury Mint intake manifolds on this project, though for some reason mine only has one carb so some modifications will be necessary. No progress last night. I fear the flu bug may rear its ugly head at my house.

40 Ford Woody-coming to a forum near you
Eric Macleod replied to Eric Macleod's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I will take you up on that offer Art! -
They are awesome to listen to. Better yet, I am very fortunate to have driven quite a few Duesenbergs over the years. The best one was J 564, a Rollston Convertible Coupe which is the only Duesenberg JN that had a supercharger installed at the factory. With fewer than 16,000 original miles on the odometer, it was an absolute thrill to drive as it drove exactly like a factory new Duesenberg should. Thanks for the memory!

40 Ford Woody-coming to a forum near you
Eric Macleod replied to Eric Macleod's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I am aware that this came from your shop. I had a feeling Lee was the builder of the master. Mine is indeed a complete kit with the seats and associated goodies. I haven't decided on a color scheme yet but am leaning toward Ford Maroon. Thanks for the comment! -
Thanks to Landman and the miracle of eBay, I now have the key elements of a '40 Ford woody. I will be finishing up the Duesenberg TROG project first but this one will be next in line. I look forward to seeing what I can make out of this combination.
