  1. I now.have 3 of the SM birds. All 3 have Keystone Classic wheels And no stock wheels
  2. Like the tile says. Im on the hunt for the original cartoon box Johan 1969-1970 Plymouth kits , In all honesty, I would actually prefer just the boxes if they are decent. I have the kits Only ones I need are 1970 Roadrunner 1970 Superbird Petty car 1969 Roadrunner
  3. I'm not a Ford guy. But,, this kit is on my want list for sure Ive watched a few of this guys builds He's not shy with paint or glue . But in the end he makes for a decent looking shelf replica . Even with the silver sharpie for the window trim . It looks pretty good
  4. There is no flat metal plate on 4 spd versions There is a lower bell hsg shield ( engine color ) , But its NOT flat
  5. Thanks. I have a few of the Recent re-issue versions of both the SM car and the Petty car. Out of maybe 4 kits , only 1 is molded in white and thats a SM bird. My 2nd SM bird is molded in a blueish turquoise color My Petty Birds are molded in 1 green and 1 blue But would like to have the original issue SM version, Just because What about the decals compared to the more recent issue, were they the same and have the correct corresponding kit number on the back of said decals. In this case kit C108-200 ? I know the more recent issues share the same sheet with the SM 1971 Cuda and are marked with the Cudas kit number I like the Petty version because it can be built replica stock right out of the box.
  6. Thanks all. I used super glue and filled the small holes where the fender scoops are supposed to go , and it worked well So was wondering about this Zap - Gap stuff to fill slightly larger areas
  7. is this the original issue of this kit ? No bar codes of any kind. Metal axles etc
  8. Rectangular But not very deep by any means
  9. Current build i need to fill the side markers. Is the liquid zap gap filler ok. I've never used the stuff before Is it kinda like thick superglue?
  10. I was in Home Depot the other day and spotted this Is it dead on? probably not But . close enough for me I used Duplicolor early Ford blue for my 67 GTX build. And IMO its a little too dark
  11. Following along with interest here Ive always thought this particular car was cool. Having a kit of it would be nice to have
  12. Another question for them. Were there just the one superbird. OR , were there actually 2 of them Depending on who you ask - where you read , I get both answers
  13. Very well done. And Its not even in my wheelhouse of the cars that interest me to build I followed along on the WIP And the amount of work you put in it asstounding to say the least But if I may ask. In the black and white photos the car appears to be a darker color. Noticed the light color car next to it in one photo????? I would think yellow car will appear very similar , even in black and white
  14. Dont worry about it. Its a part I do not use be in this weeks mail . But might be a day or 2
  15. I should / might. Will ck tomorrow Provided all the MPC kits used same support
  16. We have similar tastes I have 6 thunderbolt built. And decals.to do maybe 3 or 4 more. Just need to get to them
  17. I can only speak for Mopars But no body color underside ever. Unless owner done during a restoration. Most.were a medium Grey. Dull black for LA Plant built cars. With a dusting of body color along the edges only Flat black would be for undercoated cars
  18. So the camaro was same time or right before the 1970-72 Dusters ?
  19. Ronnie. Buddy and Jake all had roots in Fords before their Chrysler association . Especially Jake King. But I've read numerous stories why their engines were Ford blue. Unfortunately the only ones that might know are Buddy Martin and Herb McCandless Both of which will be at Chryslers at Carlisle next weekend
  20. After looking at this kit sit on my shelf for the past 30 years or more. I think it's time has come to do something with it. I'm leaning heavily towards a stock box build. The more commonly called 'KISS' method. (Keep it simple stupid.) But....i have the resin sixpack hood and a rat roaster intake to go MP car. Problem is I'm not sure i want to go another more detailed build with better chassis etc etc etc. Might come down to how well the paint on the resin hood turns out I'm plan to use aftermarket decals either way. Odds the kits decals are any good...is unlikely An issue to deal with is, there is not a lot of info / pictures out there on this particular car So far I, pretty certain there were actually 2 SM birds Both hemi 4spds, white bucket seats interior no console in either. The SS/E car had a blue painted roof , the MP car was stock black vinyl top Neither car had the Bird specific scoops on the fenders . WHY, I've no idea. Decisions decisions
  21. Whats the time line on the Leal cars. This Camaro Before or after his time in the 65 Belvedere ( the 70s version Plymouth )
