I can say Its finaly done. After several months of extensive small details, I've haven't done in many years It felt good to go this deep in a build. But I had my times when I regretted starting that process. And my hats are off big time to those that get that detailed. Looking back at it now . I wish I had the eyes to wire the firewall / engine compartment But my magnifier only helps so much In my haste to call it done,,,,,I see I missed the wiper motor install, as well as paint the front bumper brackets black ,,,,, I'll have to correct this asap There is a build thread in the Drag build section if you care to ck it out There is far, far to much stuff to bore you with here I used both a Car Craft April 1967 and SS/Di magazines for research to duplicate the car from early in its life span. No RO style hood scoop and when it still had the trunk lid decal on it, which disappeared sometime shortly after the when the hood scoop was installed . Which is best I can tell happened sometime in late winter - early spring 1967 Enjoy and as always Comments or criticisms are always welcomed. Updated pics

1966 or 1967 Plymouth Sedan model ???
gtx6970 replied to gtx6970's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Oh believe me I have plenty to work on even if the Belv 1 body never shows But I would like to build either the Grotheer car in above epic. Or the Jere Stahl sedan SS car -
Thanks all Leal did in fact run a 1968 Hemi Dart ( unlikely it was an original LO23 car ) So these decals are for that car As to when , I dont remember I have a Leal Belv, but only the one and would like to build several more. But not at the typical ebay asking prices for the kit Should have bought more when they were avail I guess. Same deal for the Sox and Martin SS 1970 Cuda kit I guess

If you're wanting to be some what correct for the era Max wedge was long gone by 1965. Hemi actually took over mid year 1964 1964s were steel head , Aluminum cross ram intake with 2 carter AFBs ( most were replaced by Hollys later in the year ) 1965s were Replaced by aluminum head, magnesium cross ram intake with 2 holly's. Now, That said. its not to say some racers were still running the max wedge at that time So,,, then by all means . Its a model car. Build what you want.

Interesting idea. I'll take a look, But I dont have one of the 68 Fury to part out , and they arent exactly cheap Might be easier / cheaper to just wait for the MCW resin body -

I have several of the Dodge kits . I'll take a look maybe later today,,,, but I think the rear glass shape is all wrong for the 66 I see MCW no longer shows the 66 Plymouth in a sedan. BUT they do show a 1966 Coronet.? So maybe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sent him a message this morning to ask -

Sedan glass is in fact taller More vertical on a 1/1. Not sure it would matter that much to me in a model car -
Resin body I assume ?

1966 or 1967 Plymouth Sedan model ???

I know someone used to make this body in resin But cant find it now or remember who made it And Ive gone down all kinds of Google searches to no avail Or, if I can come up with a reasonable facsimile of the rear roof section. I can maybe make my own Suggestions or ideas ? Im all ears -
Final update in process. Interior as well as all sub assemblies are done. Interior is painted with exact match color for the year of the car. Bench seat from harts Parts ( not dead nuts correct, But it will have to do ) Flocking for carpet, seat belts added shifter and dash mounted tach and its drive cable are from the spare parts bin One final dry test fit. to confirm how it sits. I had to remove the air cleaners. Hood didnt fit..and i dont want to cut a hole in the hood and add the RO style scoop. Im trying to replicate the car from early in its life. Next is push on to final assy , hopefully by the end of the week.

Well The Hemi Is done. After breaking one of the linkage arms off the front carb. I decided its as done as far as Im willing to go . And Ive already gone so much farther with details than I normally do Throttle cab will attach to the firewall and the coil wire will attach to a coil mounted on the inner fender , to replicate the actual car.
