  1. Anyone have the chrome reverse rims they aren't using All 4 please
  2. Ok, Update Being the tight wad I am I was searching ebay for sellers parting out kits and someone posted the chrome rims from a Lindberg 64 Dodge So, I went thru just about every Lindberg Mopar kit I had that I thought had steel wheels in them Found 4 real nice ones in the Lindberg Maverick Dodge kit, AND all 4 are chrome Went thru the Lindberg spare kits box and found two ft tires that fit said chrome steel wheels. ( Ive parted a bunch of these kits out in the past 15 years ) AND with some offset mods they will fit the Revell wheel backs for the front end. Rears are also same Lindberg wheels but in the Revell 67 GTX kits rear tires and kit wheel backs That way everything fits the revell kits chassis components , And the simpler the better PERFECT , for me anyway Thanks all for the quick replies. It sure opened my eyes to look around the stash a bit
  3. I just pulled one of these kits down Tires are ok, but the rims are not chrome. Which creates another problem PLUS ,,,, these tires will fit the chrome wheel from said 63-64 Ford( which are far from my ideal 1st choice ) . BUT then the tires dont fit the Revell wheel backs that fit the rear axle in said kit that position the tires in the wheelhouse right
  4. I have one on the bench I need these rims for , ft and rear Its a drag car, based on the Revell 1967 GTX. So if I can come up with wheels that fit this kits tires is a bonus I've sprayed some Spazstix over a gloss black base spoon test. Its OK at best so am looking for options Sending rims out to be plated , Is not one of those options I've pulled the front rims out of the recent issue 63 or 64 Ford and the fronts I can use in a pinch but the rears are far far to small
  5. Many Thanks But I agree , I've been looking at wheel pictures of this particular car and Im leaning more towards a dark silver grey color for the rim recesses
  6. Cking for final stance. Im torn between using the kit no name rear tires and the recent MPC blue streaks Mpc redlines front tires are a lock I think the blue streaks are a little more correct in both stance AND appearance wise for THIS particular car. So I'm 90% certain I'm using them Plus they just look cool
  7. Agreed 1000% I just received about a half.dozen of his dists this week actually
  8. The fear of receiving junk Keeps me.from buying these 3d parts same as resin from sellers I've never dealt with before This will change at some point I'm sure. But for now...I have far more than enough to keep my busy
  9. Oh I will. This is just a stance ck I'm not sure yet if I'm even using these tires
  10. small update Been working on a 1/1 projects so Model bench time is a bit slower I got in some wheels and wheel backs to fit the car and Using a Dana axle . All from the Revell 68 Charger ( gotta be accurate if I can ) So a general mockup had to be done just to see how its gonna set on the tires . And I think I like it . Not too high, not too low all the way around edit, Better pictures
  11. Unless its some high end MPC body ( even then Im not sure I would try ) Or has some sentinemtal attachement then and only then MAYBE
  12. Nice, I want to build this very same version I just need to come up with a 57 2door sedan kit
  13. It looks absolutely killer especially the interior panels
  14. Im thinking about a build to come soon And this car popped up I have a very nice builder and am thinking this color combo I'm looking at Tamiya TS87 Titanium gold for the exterior and maybe TS75 Champagne gold for the interior. But am stumped how or what colors to use for the 2 tone interior colors Also, is there anything out there kit wise thats close for the fender mounted rear view mirrors 1960 Mercury Parklane Convertible For Sale At Auction - Mecum Auctions
  15. 2 at a time Is pretty much my max at same time. And are usually 2 very similar subjects Although I have started builds from as far back and 15 years ago
  16. Was this kit ever reissued ?
  17. Very nice. But.... im pretty certain an outside mirror was not avail on them in 1955
  18. Keep in mind interior colors back then were rarely just plain colors. Most have a pearl look to them My 66 Satellite as an example is a pearlescent light Burgandy in color
  19. Anyone know a source , can be either original plastic or resin I have a resin conversion but its missing the red lenses
  20. I may have one. Will ck later today if it's any good
  21. Back at it for a day or so Engine details are all done,, and about ready to go into the chassis for the last time Engine is kitbashed with various Revell pieces to replicate a wedge engine and retain the 4spd trans Painted duplicolor old Ford engine blue, A carb from Fireball. Prewired dist from MAD Fuel line from the carb to the fuel pump. home made carb return spring and brcket Spark plug wire clips from MCG ( thank god for lighted magnifiers btw ) Headers are from the hemi , only heated and bent to work on the wedge motor edit, Now that I look at it in pictures. I think the red battery cable to starter wire is a bit too thick I may have to change that before it goes in the chassis
  22. Was rummaging thru some boxes this week and came across this one. I started this build A T LEAST 10 years ( likely more ) ago Original intention was the Woodward Garage Mule Cuda. But was never able to find the decals to do the car . SO in a box it went. Might have to put this one back on the bench soon and move forward with some kind of plan Best guess right now is just use it for a 1st rendition of the Sox+Martin SS/B car
