  1. Late 60's or early 70s Dodge D300 preferably a crew cab
  2. Looks great. Very well done. Antenna and headligt covers a nice touch
  3. Ones posted are incorrect for a 1968
  4. Salt flat cars are not my thing,,but this is just to cool well done
  5. Al, This is the only pic of the 1/1 that I have on this pc. Interior is the the original. All I added were power window switches like the the 1/1 and did flocking for carpet, best I can remember, the rest is original MPC . The top boot and maybe the steering wheel is from the GTX kit. The original chassis was trashed so I think the one I used is from AMT 69 Charger 500 as I wanted to retain the original metal axle look. also shown is his 67 Coronet RT vert,, also a factory air car .. I plan to replicate it as well someday
  6. I collect promos and have seen them from virtually no warp to almost un-reconizable they are warped so bad Seems most of the GM stuff 1960 and up is ok, prior to that they are hit or miss. Mopar stuff 1963 and earlier tended to be warped , 1964 and later = no worries
  7. I guess patiance really is a virtue. I started this about 10 years ago, give or take. I was searching for something else at my desk when I stumbled on it. I knew I had it,,I just hadn't thought about it in quite some time. So,,,,, I decided to see if I could actually finish it ,,,like today. It started out as a hardtop. But the roof was so bad where a previous owner glue bombed the glass in I ended up cutting it off and added the vert windshield frame from an AMT 1969 GTX kit. It's not a perfect match,, But I'll live with it as is. I glued the interior tub and chasss into it this morning. added some details ,like mirrors and a shifter this afternoon . I decided to glue the hood down and just make it a curbside,,,maybe someday I'll add the underhood stuff. And this is what I got . Its intended to be a replica of a good friends 1/1 car. Which is Blue ext and blue / white interior . 440 , auto factory air car . So if you have some stalled projects,,,,,,there is hope. They may actually get finished someday. I know if sure felt good to put it in the display case done. Comments welcome and thanks for looking
  8. This has been sitting in a cubbyhole on my desk for years. I was looking for something else completely unrelated this morning when I stumbled across it. Painted , foiled and interior was done. Essentially complete except engine. This started life as a glue bomb1968 RT hardtop that the roof was heavily damgaged from gluing the glass in ,,, so there was no saving that part. There for ,,,I decided to make it a vert using the windshield frame and glass form the amt 69 GTX vert kit. Fit is ,,ok,. Its far from perfect but I'm going to call it good enough. I want it out of the box and in the case . In my mind if I take it aprt to fix it,,it'll sit for another 10 years. So,,,i decided to see what it was going to take to finish it and go from the shadows to the display case. Glued the interior and chassis in place this morning, Dug out some tires and wheels form the parts box, Found a boot cover and glued it on . to get to what you see here Essentially,,,From pieces to almost a display piece in under an hour ( decided to finish it as a curbside so there no engine in it and the hood is very lightly glued down,,,,,,for now ) I have to find the rear bumper , glue both bumpers on and some smaller pieces like a shifter and mirrors and in the case it goes . It's been hiding in the dark for far, far, far to long ( nearly 10 years I think ) I plan to finish it,,,,,, tonight. Its supposed to be a replica of a good friends 1/1 car in the same color combination. Blue ext with blue and white interior. 440 auto. If I can find another priced reasonably , I will do it for me and give this one to that cars owner
  9. I've seen some builds on here done in under 24 hours that look outstanding,, some,,,not so much Everyone builds at there own pace ( I am NOT on a time clock thankfully) Good thing,,,,,,I have builds well in the ten year range and still not done If your happy with it,, Call it good and move onto the next one .
  10. saw this last week . and decided to take a chance that it was decent and in fact plastic. I already have a resin one around here somewhere and am not happy with it gives me 3 orginal johan buildups
  11. Candies - Hughes Cuda is all Polar Lights . Its the exact same kit as the dis-continued Mazmanian and Stardust Cuda ( except for decals obviously )
  12. How on earth do the keep something like this cool ?
  13. I kinda like the artwork boxes ,,. Its what drew me to models in the beginning and still does
  14. This might be of interest. I sprayed the interior tins on this with duplicolor chrome paint. right over duplicolor primer grey. It gave me the look I was after
  15. Sounds like the one Wendell Sowers made...
  16. I 'think ' either 1964 or maybe 1965. prior to that they were either white walls or black walls. 1967 is the 1st year ,,1969 was the last year for redlines ( on Mopars ) I am pretty sure the only vehicle to get the gold lines were Corvettes ( dont hold me to that though as GM stuff is not my area )
  17. Sorry but this info is wrong . All Challennger TA's had power disc brakes. All power disc brake cars in 1970 the booster, master cylinder , bale wire and ck valve is painted as an assembly in a cheap gloss black paint. No exceptions Any other make or model I cant say as to how they were painted,,,but On mopars 1970 and prior they were black.,,trust me . 1971 is a different story , then it becomes a question of booster supplier ( be it Midland Ross or Bendix )
  18. Last year for the Blue Streaks was 1966 . At least on Mopars,,any other makes I have no idea
  19. my daily driver is a 2000 Dakota quad cab. I bought it to fix and resell ,,,and if it dosen't t sell in a reasonable time frame . I'll make this my daily driver. 1995 Contour se, 2.5 v6 and a 5spd . Car is a blast to drive
  20. Rub the tins with your finger . see if the oils in your skin will give it some sheen
  21. Do I see Nelson Carters Superchief on that list ? Pic is to small to be certain ,,,,but it sure looks like it . edit, I blew the picture up,,,,and it sure is the Super Chief mini charger. If this materializes I'll do the happy dance . Carter had some outstanding looking cars
  22. Depends on the cars your interested in ( if you dont like the subject , you will get bored with it easily )
  23. I personally would love to see something produced where I could make a replica of my old car . I am not a ford guy but there is a small part of me that would like to have this car back. 1998 Contour SVT 200 hp 5 spd made this car a blast to drive.
  24. I had the same issue with a sheet for the Willie Borsch Charger about 2 years ago. I ended up getting another sheet from a member and it was fine. I wonder if it's from age,,,and wonder if the slixx sheets are drying out ( god I hope not,,,as I have a few dozen sheets in the stash for later projects ) I keep all my aftermkt decals in an old magnetic sleeve photo album so I tend to think they are are tight ,,,I guess time will tell .
