Well done, young lady. Keep up the good work

Maybe someday I'll get back to it. I was never happy with the paint then I noticed there was no trim around around the ft + rear glass openings and the final nail in it my body worked cracked at the base of the pass side of the cowl ,, I got disgusted with it and put it away. On top of , I rarely do replica stock stuff anymore so the project is way back on a back burner

I love it. One of the best looking body styles from Dodge ever I think I know where the insperation came from. http://shannongrasso.com/

AFAIK, They're all 1/25th scale. I would think finding a complete engine in someones parts box would be a lot cheaper.

Yes, I built a long time ago, ( I think at the earliest late 80's to latest the early 90's time frame) I got married in 1993 and I can't remember if this car was built before or after I married my wife. One of only 2 cars that I ever got magazine ink on. I received awards at every model show I took it to back then,,, with all the advancements in the hobby, now it wouldn't even get a second look

Find an old MPC Ranchargers Dart funnycar body/builder. Take the Hemi Hunter/LA Dart kit and make a stock 1970 -71 Dart Swinger . Thats what this is. But I was never real happy with the paint finish , and then once it got a crack in the base of the A-pillar,, I shelved it and it's sat ever since. Maybe someday.

With the talk about the engine color. I decide to snap off a few pictures of this old build. Originally bought as an unbuilt IMC Touchtone terror I built it as the Little Red Wagon . Long before the Lindeberg re-issue. Built all box stock but using Fred Cady decals. This was built back in the mid-late 90's time frame. My cat knocked it off the shelf a few years ago, breaking the door hinges. So I pulled it down earlier this spring and repaired it. I now make sure to keep the display shelf doors closed when I'm not in the room . Taken along side my 'what if' build , Again both built the same time frame. Hope you all like it.

WAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to many incarnations over the years of the vehicle to be able to pinpoint it down to one color. Pick th eone you like and go with it. If I remember right , I think the last version I saw run the engine and trans both were black. Remember,,, back then Race cars changed from week to week as rules permit and track conditions allow, not to mention new and improved parts came out on a day to day basis

What Slows Down Your Builds?
gtx6970 replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Life combined with WAY to much time of the computer wasting hours away. (plus I run my own shop working of the lifesize versions) My 2 girls are on the middle and high school golf teams ( just got back from picking them up at practice actually ) youngest is on a local rec soccer team and both do Karate class at least 3 nites a week. (oldest tests for her 1st degree black belt this Nov ) -
I have a couple of them on the shelf for that someday project. At least one version of an IVO car on the shelf is a must have for vintage drag car fans . I have one of the 1320 diecast FED's on the shelf,,,, till I make an effort to do one of the 4 engine exibition cars. At some point I woud even like to do one of transporter trucks . TV Tommy definitly made his mark and earned his place in NHRA history .

Pictures are worth a thousand words

Actually, 1964's should be a dash mounted push button shifter

How about a hint ? Revell kit ?

Here is the JF body along side. The Plymouth script on the rear edge of the decklid is non usable. Plus the JF body uses the shape of the Dodge body for the forward edge of the decklid which is wrong

Here is my progress so far. Using the windshield top header from the Hardtop Plymouth and then the Roof, B and C pillars section from the sedan Dodge. Making the transition from the C-pillar down into the top edge of the quarter panel is not going to be bad but the edge along the roofline above the door frame will take some work. This is along side the JF body,,which at some point I will use but for the car I want to replicate it simply would not do. As the rear area on the decklid is just to far gone

Why are kits so much money!?
gtx6970 replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Costs of the base components is higher, + modeling community as a whole is older + in most cases means less kits sold / produced. = higher prices the days of the .99 cent kits are LOOOOOOONG gone -
Thanks fellas, I though I had posted the question once before , but couldn't find it. hence the repost. my apologies I will get something new ordered for the next project. Currently working on a 1964 Plymouth hardtop to sedan conversion and I will have several seams to fill
