  1. Thanks to all. it felt good to finish one and have something new on the shelf. Although it sticks out like a sore thumb amongst super stock and funnycar builds. But this is the MPC / AMT re-issue that came out , maybe 10 years ago or so ?
  2. In a heartbeat and much much more. My wife, ( along with my 2 daughters ) is my life, and I have no interest to be on this world without her or them.
  3. It's been a long time since I could say this. But I finished one. 1st completed model I've built in over 15 years. Although, Altereds are not exactly my style ( I am a primarly a super stock and funny car fan ) But I bought several of these many years ago when they were re-issued. I painted it back then,,,, then got bored with it and put it away. Now, fast foward to this past spring. I dug it out and decided I needed to finish something , and soon. It was supposed to be 100% box stock ( but that didn't work out so well. ) Just added plug wires and ran some fuel lines to jazz it up without going to crazy. I'll admit , It's far from my best build, and it has some issues. That I 'might' redo someday.( I have to admit,,,, not likely ) But overall I like it and it feels good to actually finish a model in a looooonnnnng time.
  4. I don't own any of there kits, but I have seen a couple in person. , but plan to soon as I want to do a couple more AFX Dodge - Plymouths And everything I've seen looked of very high quality, as good if not better than modelhause ( and thats no easy accomplishment )
  5. the scoop only is already avail thru Reliable Resin, They also have the flat cuda hood. But it's 2 part item that requires molding in the resin scoop on a resin hood I feel the item is best molded as one unit. And yes, the scoop on the actual car appears to be opened up along the bottom of the forward opening. Thats easily done by each individual owner on an as needed basis . Same deal, already avail thru Reliable resin
  6. It is a replica of the same hood used on the 1969 Dodge and Plymouth 440 sixpack cars. Sox and Martin used this same style of hood scoop on both the 1970 (and early 71) Barracuda and there 1971 Duster used it as well it's obviously not intended for the OE stock and/or factory stock builds ----- it's a race car only thing
  7. 1st seller I bought one from there online store and was not happy with the quality . 2nd - They 'did' make it, but with all the negatives the seller has received lately I have doubts it's a fluke and is most likely gone. That said , Yes, it is the monogram scoop on an MPC/AMT 1/25th scale hood. And once installed it looks right at home there. I would like to do a AMT/MPC Duster hood next for the S+M 1971 Duster
  8. I have the one I planned to use about done., top and bottom But, I had a brain fart , does any make or currently have avail said hood in resin. I am well aware of a former ebay seller making it, but said seller has since gone south. I have been talking to someone to have said hood replicated. and was wondering if there was a market for it in resin. After receiving a few items from said caster, I am confident it will be a nice piece once done. This is a replica of sixpack scoop style hood on the Sox and Martin 1970 Cuda And other than maybe early in the 1971 season where the 71 S+M car had it. I can think of no other team that ran it. So I am a little leary to procede and have it done. As it is - it will be done to fit the MPC - AMT body but with some timming can be easily adapted to fit the Johan body as well. Once my camera charges up, I'll take a few picture of the one I have done
  9. ps,and just as an FYI - the overal length of a Mopar 4 speed trans with the bellhousing attached versus a 727 auto is the same not different lengths as shown
  10. Consoles were avail all 5 years a Barracuda was produced 1970 thru 1974 . avail with either a slap stick auto or a 4 speed. There are some slight differences though between 1970 only versus the 71 thru 74 versions. In 1970 the console automatics had a round woodgrain shifter ball, 1971 thru 74 was a T handle style 1970 consoles had an empty cavity near the rear edge that allowed the seat belts someplace to be stored when not in use. 1971 thru 1974 consoles had a chrome ashtray there instead ps - the black int shown here is a 1971 only interior style / pattern The red interior pattern shown was 1970 only, BUT 72 thru 74 patterns were similar
  11. In today from missing link Base line bench seat interior for a 68 Roadrunner( same interior as in the Project Six Pack 1969 Roadrunner ) Resin Grilles ( 2 of them ) for the Lindberg 1964 Plymouth - to do it as a correct Hemi car AND a resion early 70's Ford 2 ton truck cab for one of my ramp bed trucks conversions And I have to say these are hands down the best resin parts I've had in my hands to date, bar none. The grille could almost pass for injected stryene parts, it's that nice .
  12. I picked these via the 'bay a week or so ago
  13. If i may, what color +/ or brand paint is the interior ?
  14. Just wanted to give a kudos to Ron at RMR Resins. I received one of his 1965 Dodge crew cab pickup cabs,,,,, and I was quite pleased to say the least. ( had no need for the bed and Ron was more than happy to accomodate my request ) If you need one, you will not be dis-appointed especially for the price .
  15. Good looking build. And I agree with ya, crossrams just look so cool
  16. Yes, I work for myself restoring old cars in addition to some work on modern vehicles if I can. currently have a 1968 Charger R/T in and a 1969 Charger R/T thats about finished I finished a 1970 Hemi Cuda last year and a 1970 Road Runner 440 six barrel car
  17. if all you need is the charger 500 grille for the AMT / MPC kit. pm me an address and I'll send you one( i have several of the kits and only one will be built as a charger 500 )
  18. 1969 Charger 500 and Daytona rear glass Normal 1968 up thru and including 1970 Charger rear glass
  19. Actually, there was only 1 prototype Charger 500, it's actually a 68 charger modified with the flush mounted rear glass and a sometime during the build of the car and testing, it received a modified rear tail panel to a 1969 tail lights , yet the car retained the round side markers unique to 1968, it is and always has been a 1968 Hemi Charger R/T Jerry Service in Mi still owns the car and has owned it since the late 70's or early 80's(that I know of ) . It spent some time on the ISCA show circuit thus why all the chrome work . I believe it has now been restored back to stock. I do not have one of the revell Daytonas so I can't say what the body is desinged to be. The AMT Daytona is a standard charger 500 kit and requires some pretty extensive work to convert to a Daytona .. IMO, It's best left to be a Charger 500 right out of the box. As for the Charger 500 , it uses ALL standard 1969 Charger sheetmetal with nothing but a 1968 Coronet 500 grille installed in place of the stock charger grille. and the for mentioned flush rear glass treatment that requires a shortened decklid ( decklid is the same between Daytona + 1969 Charger 500 ) A 1969 Daytona uses said same charger 500 body , 1969 Daytona only front fenders and hood ( 1970 Charger hood and fenders are EXTREMELY similar ) 1970 Superbird uses all 1970 Roadrunner external sheetmetal with SuperBird only rear glass and trim, 1970 Coronet ft fenders ( modified ) and a modifed 1970 Coronet hood that has a Bird only hood extension fitted to it The charger 500 name continued thru 1970 and 1971 but it was a trim level pkg only and had no body modifications of any kind
  20. This is her first model. I showed her how to use a single sided sniper to remove all the parts off the trees and a sanding board to clean everything up ( the double sided fiber type fingernail files work great btw ) Being an avid drag modeler myself,,the decal choice was mine. But she trimmed the decals with scissors on her own and once I helped position them on the body, she dabbed them down with a paper towel + Q tips and covered them with decal set and let it sit overnight to dry. Next day she wanted to get right back on it. There is no engine in the car and it's far from perfect in person. but it came out great for a 1st timer. . The 94 Dodge ram snap kit she did 100% on her own with nothing but verbal guidence from me . The clear trailer kit I'm helping her with because it's not very beginner friendly . I'll show here this post and it will make her day
  21. My daughter has always had an interest in cars and since I started messing with models again these past few months. she took notice and wanted to help or build her own,,,she's just turned 12 btw. I own my own shop whre I work on the real things. Both the classics and new ones. And she likes to tinker in the garage sometimes . I picked this one on ebay a couple months ago for myself but she latched onto in when it showed up. SHE wanted to build it with no pursasion from me .I think she liked the pearl white color . I picked the decal choice using a less than perfect old Fred Cady sheet I had on hand. It was completely built start to finish within 48 hours of the mail man dropping it off to me . I helped her with the decals and some of the assy issues this car has. It's a snap kit and goes together kind of tight in some areas. . But 90% of it is all her. Built 100% right out of the box with no paint work or added detail. Enjoy, to say I am extremly proud of her is a huge understatment. She has already built a dodge ram snap kit and she is working on one of the clear trailer kits now to display the whole shbang on her dresser
  22. Great feeling isnt it? About a month or so ago, I was selling at local model swap meet /show. When this young girl ( maybe 8 or 9 ) came up to my table with money in hand ( $5 ) I had several builder kits on the table all at $5 ea. She couldn't decide on which one out of 2 she wanted So she bought one and I gave here the 2nd. I told her she had to build it and I wanted to see one of them on the show table next year. As adults and embassaders of the hobby we are a dying breed. And we MUST nurture the young ones to preserve the hobby as a whole or it wll die off when we do . Video games were are not .
  23. That is exactly what I wanted to do. I have an old builder 72 thats missing the ft bumper and grille and it would be a perfect starting point( it has the custom grille in it now ) Plan is to convert the current 72 cab to a 1968 or 69 style cab ( gonna be a ramp bed truck so anything behind the cab will be scratchbuilt )
  24. Anyone know if or who makes a replacement grille for approx 1967 thru 1970 cheverolet and/ or GMC pickups ?
  25. I also did a Revell Jungle Jim vega as well.. I built this car nearly 15 years ago. But I was never real happy with the way this kit turned out . I always thought the Revell kits sat to high in the rear. I but recently found out a way to lower them,,, so the next one I'll try it .
