  1. Thanks guys!!! The top of the fuel tank actually is present on the kit!! I had to fill the top side of the frame rails and mufflers. Also opened the holes where the screws that keep the body and frame together go. I'll still add the shifter linkage, but that's about all.
  2. This was a two day job. Had the idea when a friend came to use my compressor, and saw me working on my next build, a 1932 Ford. He asked why not to build a fenderless Ford. Like my '32 is going to be stock to the bone, that was a discarded idea. By other hand I remembered a picture of a Ford dealer show room back in 1957... Had to do some modifications to the frame, so it can be displayed just by itself, but I think it turned out ok. 1957 Ford Frame. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Frame. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Frame. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Frame. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Frame. by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr This one I just couldn't resist doing: The visible Ford: Visible 1957 Ford by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  3. Looks good. Missing a headlight tough. very realistic moonshine hauler.
  4. I loved the fact it's a four door!!! Great build quality as well.
  5. Thanks guys for for your awesome feedback!!! The valve covers and their decals come with the kit. The supercharger, I took from the Fireball Roberts edition of the Revell '57 Ford, as I'm not much into building race cars, but that supercharger was worth the effort.
  6. The car of the week is the Ford dream car La Tosca, built in 1955. Who got it right: customsrus; W-409; slusher; ChrisR; Badluck 13. Thanks for participating guys!!
  7. No fit issues. Just glue the windshield as high as it can go so it won't hit the dash, and you will have a smooth sail all along. sanding about 1mm at the bottom of the windshield also does the trick. The only hard to install part is the lower radiator hose. I also would strongly recommend that you glue the bumper brackets to the frame before painting the frame and installing it on the floor panel.
  8. That other line is a vacuum line. The fuel pump was also a vacuum pump, and the intake manifold was also a vacuum source. This way the windshield wipers would work ok under acceleration and at idle.
  9. Yuri, have you tried to paint white line and red line tires with a Dremel tool? This is one of the cars I would had painted a red line on the tire.
  10. It looks nice. A little black wash on the side grilles and some foil on the trim, and it will look very real.
  11. This is a indoor picture: 1957 Ford Custom Tudor (indoor pictures) by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr And a Thunderbird painted the same color: 1957 Thunderbird Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr This one is also supposed to be Inca Gold: 1957 Thunderbird Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr And this is a 1957 Ford brochure showing the color: Ford Catalog 1957 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr This is one of the hardest colors to photograph I ever tried to take pictures of. Even looking online, the color changes so dramatically from one picture to the other, that I had to trust the old Duco number to have it mixed. and it matched 99% the paint chip on my original 1957 Ford color catalog. Under fluorescent light, it looks almost light green. I think that Ford was pioneer on a chameleon color
  12. Thanks guys!! Think about a fun ride in this supercharged taxi!!! Burning rubber on all three speeds!!! Yes, I kind of love '57 Fords
  13. This one is painted Inca Gold. It's a very light and greenish tone of yellow, but somehow under the sun my camera makes it POP and one needs sun glasses to look at it. 1957 Ford Custom Tudor Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor Inca Gold by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  14. That's what I call a super great job!!!! The paint job alone is stunning!! The level of detail attention and how clean the model is built is remarkable. My hat is of to you Yuri.
  15. I do things different if I'm painting with a spray can or with my airbrush. When I paint with spray cans, and by that I mean 99% Tamiya, I start by the rocker panel, paint the side, the trunk/roof/hood, and go down to the other side. Usually I paint the hood separately, but at the same time with the same can of paint. With the airbrush, I usually paint the trunk, roof, front fenders first, then I paint the sides. I also use different air pressures and distances depending on the type of paint. When I use the airbrush? I use it when I want a color that is not available in spray can form. Usually, car paint stores can mix the color you want and then put it on a spray can for you. i'm not a fan of that spray cans because the paint is always too thick, so I get the custom mixed paint, and thin it to the appropriate viscosity with the appropriate reducer/thinner. Usually all that, plus the work I have cleaning the airbrush, makes me happy to use a Tamiya spray can. I have limited time to build models, and the less time I spend cleaning a caring for my airbrushes and compressor, more time I spend actually building models. If you are going to get an airbrush, I recommend something simple to start with, like a Badger 350. I still paint bodies with mine.
  16. I thought it was the Austin 1800 version. have a magazine with a comparo between it and the Alfasud. Sent the PM to Harry and he told "no it is not a Morris" Started looking for pictures of the Morris online, and found the Wolseley. They are about 90% similar from the outside. One has to pay attention to pick them apart.
  17. I saw a very similar kit at my local hobby shop, and it stated on the boton of the box: Motorized, poseable steering. Batteries not included. Same manufacturer for what I can recall. By the box art I was very tempted of giving it a try, but after that "motorized"...
  18. Same thing I do!!! I also used non-serous-adult-hobbist spray can paint on this Ford: 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery Deluxe by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  19. Saw that video lot's of times, and I can say the 1959 Chevrolet was sabotaged. The way the car behaved compared to some actual road crashes with similar cars lend to the conclusion that the car had no engine, just the absolute minimum fender bolts to keep the parts on the car, and the frame was weakened by carefully done cuts. In other hands, the video is fake, just made to promote the new Malibu, and paid for. Who has doubts about that, it was done before. Volvo did the same on a TV commercial years ago. They reinforced a Volvo SW so it would survive being run over by a Big Foot truck. The difference is that Volvo was caught, and it was all over the magazines and the news.
  20. Remember, don't post any answers or hints here!! Send-me A pm with the answer. This one is easy!! What is this beauty? Auto ID par TĂșlio Lazzaroni Lovefordgalaxie, on ipernity The answer is: 1955 Ford dream car La Tosca.
  21. " I don't know what made me want to do more with this model but, trust me, it's pretty unusual! " It's a '57 Ford!! Nothing unusual about loving and detailing them, it's only natural
  22. Thank you for understanding Jon. Don't worry, I just didn't have the chance to post the less complicated to find cars yet
  23. Very nice and well done. There is nothing like a factory stock automobile, both in 1:1 or 1:25 scale form.
  24. Great looking model!! Always loved Edsels.
  25. To some IT IS all about winning by googling, and that led to the cheaters problem Harry was so sad about. On my edition of the game, I use pictures that can't be googled, and genuine research, or like you said genuine memories have to be used to find out what the car is. I think that is the reason that make some individuals to complain about this edition of the game, and I have a very low tolerance level with cheaters and people that like to do things the easy way. Thank God I'm not a moderator, so I can say to them what I think about their complains. On the other side, we have people that do play the game with the objective of having fun, and not of being the first giving the correct answer. Those, are the ones that usually take more time, their fun time, but "amazingly" end finding the correct answer!!! Since the beginning I said I was going to use different cars than Harry. I was going to use productions cars, but also one off cars and prototypes, and of course the last two tend to be very obscure. People that are complaining about what is a CHARACTERISTIC of this edition of the game, never bothered to read the definitions I stated on the first edition.
