1930fordpickup Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Is that right hand drive I can see? steve Yes it is.
unclescott58 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I assume that's used for express deliveries. Scott
Joe Handley Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Meth: not even once. Yup, kinda reminds me of a RX8 with the rear 2 feet of an early S10 bed added to it I saw, minus the talent that went into that build.
Harry P. Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Is that right hand drive I can see? steve USPS delivery trucks are RHD so the mailman can put the mail into your mailbox without getting out of the truck.
Joe Handley Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Wonder what would happen if you stuck a mail Jeep front and on a CJ or YJ, other than confusion on the onlookers part.
Tom Geiger Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 At one point the USPS stopped selling the RHD trucks. Seems too many citizens couldn't drive the RHD, and those accident suits wound up including the USPS because 'they should've known'.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) Nice video here of one of our hard-working, responsible, well-paid (with great benefits) postal employees doing what a few in every profession do best... http://www.news.ruralinfo.net/2014/05/video-inappropriate-postal-behavior-usps-throws-package-in-rain-while-im-home.html Edited March 28, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy

jbwelda Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 local walnut grove ca (aka Mayberry) still uses a RHD jeep like that for deliveries...and they also converted the long time mailmum's Saturn wagon to RHD (believe it or not...I didn't believe it at first either). jb
Austin T Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Waste of a couple Jeeps... Well looks like it was saved in my opinion. Since these were a post office only type thing once they retire them most of them go to rot away,so any still on the road no matter what condition are technically saved.

Sounds like contract carriers, some of them bought used USPS vehicles. Last I looked Subaru sold RHD US Spec cars for postal use to private carriers. Studebaker used to offer those in their day.
