Mopar - D Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Nice additions to the Gyro box. I like the look of the cab with out the arms sticking out but either way you have a very interesting build going here. Thanks for sharing.
slusher Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 X-Wing Things! I found these Engine Halves in the Parts Box. They are also from the old 12" MPC X-Wing Fighter. With a little Cutting & Fitting they should fit the Gyro Box just right. Here are the Engine Halves in place on the Gyro Box. More Coming... Now your on the next level of the build Ira. This is so interesting ....
Ira Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Battlestar Galactica! I found these Engine End Caps, left over from a vintage Monogram Colonial Viper Kit Bash. They will be the covers for the Electric Engines in each Wheel. I could have glued the Engine Ends on the outside of the Rims, but I thought they would look better recessed into the Rims. So I marked off some plastic to be removed. After a lot of Grinding and Fitting and Sanding I got one of the Ends to fit inside! More Coming...
cobraman Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Coming along nicely. I like how you keep adding little details.
Ira Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Looking good Ira, i am really curious to see what ideas you start adding to the build. I know your doing the foundation right now... Thanks Carl! More Coming...
Davewilly Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Cool wheel covers! and the gyro box is looking very cool!
misterNNL Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 You wre right of course....the inset wheel centers are much cooler.
Ira Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 That new rear panel is perfect for that spot.Just complicated enough to look right. As for the arms...If they were articulated just right it could change it's own tires! Thanks Tom! That's a good idea...
Ira Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 Electric Wheels! First I sprayed the Wheels with DupliColor Grey Filler/Primer. Next I sprayed a couple of coats of Tamiya Silver Leaf. Then I brushed a Black Wash on the center ribbed section. More Coming...
Ira Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 Great start. However I think the arms are just too strange. I vote against them. Thanks for your Vote Bob! The Dodger is so much Fun as it is, I think I will probably save the Arms for another project...
Ira Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 Only from the uber-creative mind of Ira. Love it. How's about one of those arms to act as a "kick-stand" when you shut the gyros down? Sure gonna need something to keep from falling over. Thanks Bill! Good Idea...
Ira Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 This wouldn't happen to be the driver of this "thing" .....would it ? No, wrong guy! With those Claws he wouldn't need the Big Arms...
gatorincebu Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 This is a really cool build. How about a sat dish or other kinda of antenae on the roof. And maybe the Italeri crane behind the cab??? be Well Gator

Ira Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 GYRO Box Pipes! I cut 2 lengths of Aluminum Tubing and glued them to the ends of the Tanks with Zap-A-Gap, as a shown. Then I added a little White Glue and filled in the holes and gaps. Rear View. More Coming...
