Kennyboy Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Always wanted to mate the '57 T-bird and the Callaway Corvette Speedster.......just thought it was the right match. Found the body of the car in a bin full of just bodies for free at a local club meet, pieced the other parts together thru both help on this forum and on Ebay. The interior and the chassis of this build were sourced from the Callaway kit and with quite a lot of cutting and fitting the chassis and interior began to fit. The windshield also took some extensive modding to fit but in the end I think it looks pretty darn good. Adjusted the rear wing tips shorter to fit this build.......the taillights will be from my collection of LED red bulbs. The wheels are from the parts box stuffed into some old Pegasus wheels I turned into sleeves. Enjoy the 1st primer shots! Edited April 26, 2015 by Kennyboy

Darren B Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 wow me likey this thing is totally off the wall but very creative...............
Krazy Rick Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Very nice !! - if you can get a hold of some of the original 57 kit's custom parts; the headlights, front & rear end would look great on this
microwheel Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Howdy Kenny, nice work so far. I love the custom look. The way you did the wrap around front glass and flowed the rear deck area into the body, and then created the perfect custom interior to go with it, was just some outstanding work, and is gonna make your bird a head turner when finished.
Kennyboy Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Thanks again to all of you following! I really appreciate your support!! Today I got the body painted.....Ok, so teal pearl with flames was not what I intended originally......nor do I want to be known as "that guy who always does flames "......but hey, sometimes you just go with it and let the build/paint "do what it wants!" .......That was the case here........the original paint color did not want to work for nothing and rather than dunk it again (4th time!!) I figured to just work with it, move forward, and voila! Besides, in the 50's flames were all the rage! It's different, but those who know me know that I love different!
Curt Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Love the paint! Looks like it took you in the right direction...
