dublin boy Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Old Tamiya kit, the decals for the gold pinstripes broke up as soon as they hit the water. Older Tamiya decals can be a bit hit and miss. Nice little kit though, with correct hand drive too...
afx Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Very nice Shay. Does Tamiya give you a complete engine? If so how is it?
cobraman Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 That is nice. Weren't those things like only 36 inches from the ground to the top of the roof ?
dublin boy Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Thanks guys Very nice Shay. Does Tamiya give you a complete engine? If so how is it? Yep, full engine, very nice too. I know what you're thinking JC (I think...) but you'd need a gearbox for the RS 1600, the Pinto box wouldn't be correct, but it might do the job
atomicholiday Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Great looking build. I've always been curious about this kit.
Johnt671 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Nice model. Here are a couple of pictures of one at the AACA museum in Hersey PA. Very low, as can be seen against the car next to it, and the height of the speaker pole in the second picture.
Foxer Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Good looking build, Shay. When I was living in Germany I was strongly considering having an Europa back to the States ... that was in 1968. I ended up returning before I expected and ended up with a Triumph TR4A I got used here. Your build looks really good ... and gets my juices flowing ... )) I have this kit but haven't started it as I never really had one and don't know what color I would have gotten
NYNS Franky Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Great build, haven't seen many done either. Looks real good in black!
peekay Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Looks really great! And better for not having the decals IMO.
afx Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Thanks guys Yep, full engine, very nice too. I know what you're thinking JC (I think...) but you'd need a gearbox for the RS 1600, the Pinto box wouldn't be correct, but it might do the job Yep the RS1600. I'll sent you a PM. I don't want to hijack your thread anymore than I already have.
dublin boy Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Hijack all you want mate, that's what makes the thread interesting. Edited April 21, 2015 by dublin boy
afx Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Okay. So my thought is we need a nice twin-cam for Belkits upcoming Escort RS1600. Mate this engine to the ZF transmission from the Esci/Revell RS1800 kit and I think we might have a winner.
