Dave Van Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Nice work on a kit often overlooked. I kinda wish Revell would add stock wheels and reissue it. What wheels and tires are those....and did you do anything to the doors???? Thanks
will69 Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the comments guys. Dave, This was a Revell Uptown kit that came with operating front doors that swing out and up. The wheels and tires are parts box items. Edited May 25, 2015 by will69
Chuck Most Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Nice! Isn't it a CTS, though? The DTS was the big, front-drive model that replaced the Deville.
MrObsessive Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Very Nice! Actually, that's an STS.............They were the bigger brother of the CTS.
Dave Van Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys. Dave, This was a Revell Uptown kit that came with operating front doors that swing out and up. I was asking as I glued mine closed as they didn't look right. Yours look good and wondered if you had to glue them too. Thanks
will69 Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 OOPS. IT IS AN STS YES I DID GLUE THEM SHUT. COVERED MISALIGNMENT .
mrm Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 This is not a STS or DTS. This is a CTS. DTS replaced the Deville in 2000 STS replaced the Seville at the same time The CTS was a new concept at that time and had the uphill battle to replace the Catera and fight off it's bad reputation. The one the model represents is the first generation, which originally had a Saab V6, BMW transmission, body panels built in Indonesia and it was actually built in Germany. Then they made the very first V-series, which had a Corvette motor and transmission in it.
Sidney Schwartz Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Caddy my way Your way looks pretty dang good.
will69 Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 To my knowledge no plastic model of a cts was ever produced.
SCI-FI Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 To my knowledge no plastic model of a cts was ever produced. Do we have any resinmongers willing to take up the case? A CTS coupe in 1/24 would be a thing of beauty...
mrm Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) This is a first generation Cadillac CTS-V This is a DTS And the plastic model is actually a STS-V Edited May 25, 2015 by mrm
Rob Hall Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I have an STS and a DTS I may replace them both with a 3rd gen CTS in a year or so..
