My two cents. Be grateful we have the magazine and the forum. If the biggest problem in your life is whether the magazine is late then count your blessings that you have such a good life. I've suffered sciatica problems and number of years ago and can't image what Gregg has endured. If you can't accept the magazine is late then do what you feel you need to do but don't contribute to making things harder for Gregg.

Its not siad often enough thank you Gregg for a great forum and magazine.

X2 - As long as I get the magazine I don't really care when it shows up. I'm sure that we ALL have much bigger and more pressing things in our lives to worry and fuss about than when a magazine shows up in our mailbox.

I really didn't think this publication still printed anymore. I haven't seen it in an LHS for over a year now.

Did you ask your hobbyshop or is that your conclusion. The last issue was the contest issue which was February. 2015.

Maybe you're looking in stores that don't carry it. Not every LHS carries it, you know.

You are not the only one. I deal with sciatica every day, going to pt for it. I also have a herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, arthritis in the right hip, same side as the sciatica, and bursitis in both shoulders. I understand now why it is late, so don't preach to me and throw little barbs at me, I know full darn well what pain is, my life ain't easy buddy. I am not trying to make things harder for him, just releasing frustration I have a right to have. If lateness is no biggie to you, fine. Don't condem those to whom it matters. I won't cancel my sub, but feel maybe he does need to get help in doing his thing.

I explained why in post 12.

I know. I wasn't harping, just responding to a comment. I get it Harry.

Geez, no wonder you're so cranky! :P

Just kidding. I can imagine how tough it must be to deal with chronic pain and conditions like that, and I know it's no fun. I thank God I got away relatively healthy (so far).

Yeah, it sucks, so although I am not nearly as bad as Gregg, I am in pretty constant pain. I have a fair idea of what he is going thru. I understand he wants to stay involved. I respect that.

I have no problem with the magazine. It's like a really good club newsletter. I open it and I read articles written by friends of ours. Does anyone else hear their voices when you read? And content wise, it's subject to what the contributors submit. I'm just happy that there's always something cool. It comes out when it comes out. I understand and accept that.

It's been awhile, but when Gregg was well, he was out and about at model shows across the country. He was just fun to be around, always doing something funny, and being a great ambassador to the hobby. People got the magazine just because he treated them nice at a show! If he had kept his health, things would be much different. I surely miss seeing him!

Going back some 15 years, across some tall beers the night before NNL East, Gregg taught me that there was no model show more than a $100 plane ride away (hey that was a long time ago!) That was the encouragement that got me to take the big step to go to GSL in Salt Lake the first time! So thanks Gregg for all you've done for the hobby. I hope things get better! I'd surely love to see you at the shows again!

My intent was not to throw barbs at you. Greggs has related his health issues numerous times. Bitching every time the mag is late and threating to cancel your sub is not helping him. My comments were in general to those who are the arm chair quarterbacks that are constantly complaining about the magazine and how this forum are run. Its amazing the how many experts there are. There are to few times that people appreciate what we have!!

If you think you are frustrated how frustrating it it is for Gregg.

I have no idea what Greg goes thru but i can only imagine by the picture it's very painful. I worked 3 years against my doctors wishes because i liked to work. I cried when i had to retire. One day it happened i could no longer walk enough to do it. I am so grateful for the forum and i buy the magazine when i am shopping...

It's cool. As Harry made mention in jest, but often true, my pain makes me a bit crabby sometimes, and short on patience.

Thanks I understand. As I said I had sciatic issues a number of years ago but lost weight and was able to get past that. I empathize with those who have chronic pain issues. I have been blessed with good health. Suffered a heart attack last year but have managed to improve my health. Have to deal with each day as it comes as conjestive heart failure is not something that improves. As with everything have gained some interestihg insights from it all. One is having an appreciation for what I have and to be thankful for it.

You all need to calm down and get a model built or something. It's pretty fine that everyone likes the best model car magazine our there but Greg's condition just doesn't allow such a rigid schedule as you all seem to need. ... his condition was explained by Harry .. time and time again. I doen't get bothered by any subscription being "late" though I have no idea when any of them are due .. they just magically show up one day and it's nice.

So go build a model and when it comes, it comes.

I know it can be upsetting when someone or something you're waiting for is late, it drives me crazy as well. However, some things are worth waiting for. My first granddaughter that is now two days late is one of them, MCM magazine is another. I personally don't subscribe, our postal service here sucks, however, I NEVER miss an issue. My LHS holds a copy for me so I don't miss an issue. If all we had was SA, which is a fine product on its own, this hobby would be missing a valuable resource.

I agree that this magazine may be slanted to the personal interests of Gregg. But regardless of who was in charge this would probably be the case. If it was my baby, the articles in it would probably reflect my tastes as well, regardless of how hard we try to include something for everyone. Its just human nature.

Regardless of how late it may be I'm personally going to wait. No one tells me how quickly, nor how often I have to finish my next model. And I'm not going to even ask someone who has the health problems that Gregg does how to run his magazine, which is his baby.

Remember patience is a virtue, cultivating it will do us all some good.

Now............back to the workbench....................

Actually lateness as a rule bothers me, like co workers always being late, people arriving late for whatever. Just a pet peeve I guess.

Not true. Actually the types of models that Gregg likes best are rarely featured in the magazine, other than in the New Products and Resin columns, where Gregg does like to review the subjects that he likes best. But as far as the rest of the pages, his personal preferences regarding subject matter isn't a determining factor. We try to mix it up and feature all sorts of models... particularly the kind of stuff you won't see in SA. After all, SA already does SA... why do the same stuff they're doing? We march to the beat of a different drummer, and in my biased opinion, the hobby is better off for it. Variety is the spice of life, as the old saying goes. B)

Having both mags is like not having to choose which flavor of ice cream you want, you can have both.

I don't complain, I simply say thank you Gregg and Harry for all your efforts and I thank you because we have a model car mag for us model car guys, to me that's huge. I will always be loyal to anything that caters to us model car guys no matter how late it comes to my mailbox.....

My new issue 194 arrived today. I've never read it before, so it's new. It says it's the April 2015 issue, and I still remember April. And, it's still 2015, so the magazine's not late. B)

Life's too short to get oneself lathered up over small stuff. B)

And, in the grand scheme of things, by and large, it's all small stuff. ^_^
