cobraman Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) This will be the next kit on the bench to be butchered. : ) Edited June 14, 2015 by cobraman
Impalow Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I will also be watching... I have had my eyes on that kit.
cobraman Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Well fellows , don't go by how mine will turn out ! : )
cobraman Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Gasser ? Lowrider ? Barn find ? No. I think pretty much stock with possibly some added details. I'm thinking Burgundy with an Ivory interior. Perhaps white interior. Not sure yet.
horsepower Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I want to try a roof and trunk transplant from a Willys coupe, chopped it should resemble a Lincoln Zephyr, possibly a Viper engine with Ford valve cover name to represent a Faux Ford V-10, Webers instead of injection.
slusher Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Ray, is it molded in Black? I believe so from memory. i will follow along. Burgundy and Tan sound great...
om617 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Following this one, these are good looking cars. Always tried to get one of ebay but it`s always some insaine price lol
cobraman Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks guys. Yes Carl, it is molded in black and tan.
Eric Macleod Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I have always wondered what a '41 Lincoln would look like if the front fender line was extended all the way to the back fender...like a '47-8 Buick. Just a thought for you to play with. Keep us posted.
djflyer Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 My best idea right now is a pro-touring mod with the top chopped and tire set into the trunk lid. For something really good check Gary Campesi's facebook page.
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Looking forward to seeing what you you do. If you really wanted to irritate the purists do it as a rat rod.
Nitrozilla Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I know this is just me, but I see a topless Funny Car with headers poking out behind the front tires and a parachute attached to the Continental spare. Now that I look at what I typed, I KNOW it's just me. Whatever you do my friend, just haz phun.
Crazy Ed Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Lookout World, Ray's on the Loose Yet Again and threatening a Custom... this ought to be fun!! Edited May 29, 2015 by Crazy Ed
Dominik Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Long years ago i built the first issue from this Lincoln (molded in tan). I really like to see a progress from it - old memories will come back.
cobraman Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Thanks gents. Car is being built stock with probably non stock colors.
cobraman Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Painted the car today. Paint ran. My fault. Taking a bath now. Oh well, you all been there in fact I know some of you are there right now ! : )
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Gotta keep that paint on a leash so it doesn't run away.
cobraman Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 I don't think at this point I will ever learn. : (
kustomclassics Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 (edited) here's one i have under construction Edited May 30, 2015 by kustomclassics
cobraman Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Well. after taking a nice soak I got all the bad paint off and have the body back in primer. So..... here we go again ! Going with the same color again. I think the curves of the body caused the problem with the runs. I believe when I was trying to get paint into some areas it made it puddle in other areas. Ya, that's what happened. That's my story and I'm sticking to it ! : ) I will be more careful when spraying this time.
