landman Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 This is the first one of a lifetime supply. I was supposed to maybe repaint it and glue it back together. Well..... it was a major but fun undertaking, something like Joe Shaw's bother's Challenger, although not in the same class of workmanship. It morphed into a roadster from a cabriolet along the way. Hope you like it. The first photo is what I started with. The WIP is here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101283&page=1
TooOld Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Very nice work ! Restoring old builds is lots of fun but it can be addictive !
Guest Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Very nice! I love the colors! Can we get a few shots of the interior?

mustang1989 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Woooooow!!! Holy !!!! That sir, is a work of art Pat!!! Beautiful re- build!!
landman Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Very nice! I love the colors! Can we get a few shots of the interior? Here you go Ben. Added a front view as well.
sjordan2 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Very nice in every detail. Great, realistic interior. On the next one, I'd consider replacing the kit glass with Lexan or clear styrene.

Eric Macleod Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Landman, You have nailed this one. I would be proud to display it on a shelf at my house. The interior looks like you are ready to go for a drive. I like your colors and execution on this one. It gives me great pleasure to know you implemented a couple of my tongue in cheek suggestions. This is a great model in every way. So....what is the next restoration? Eric
landman Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Thank you, Bob, Lee,Carl,Ray,Ben,Joe,Wayne,Dan,Skip and Eric. Eric, your tongue in cheek suggestions were well worth it, I think it looks quite dashing. As for your question, it was very timely as the next one has just arrived in the shop. However the workload precludes starting on it right away. Thanks for asking.
bbowser Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Outstanding model, I love the color choices. Well done sir!
Guest Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Here you go Ben. Added a front view as well. Outstanding! I love the purple on the seats!! It's not easy getting good interior shots is it? I personally hate it.
Eric Macleod Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Wow! First a V-16 then a Shelby. Quite a garage you have there. Your inspiration has gotten me back on the Duesenberg build. Thanks for that!

Speaking of Duesenbergs, I have three. I was thinking of using what is left of the Packard Speedster on a Duesenberg chassis.
Eric Macleod Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Not a bad idea there. There have been quite a few Dueseberg SJ Speedsters that would look good with a Packard body attached.
