cobraman Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 This will be the next up on the bench now that the Corvair is done. Looks to be a nice kit. Don't think I will be doing any mods. I'm thinking a light blue for color but not sure yet.
horsepower Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) I've seen a few of these that came in a color between a tan and a very light apricot color that is quite distinctive. The closest I've seen on color charts is the beige, it must pick up its apricot/salmon tint from red pigments in the formulation when it starts to fade. Edited June 23, 2015 by horsepower
wayne swayze Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 These look like top drawer models, so I'm sure you'll do it justice. Looking forward to your build!
cobraman Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 I have made some progress on this one. Still lots to do. So far I am very impressed with this kit.
Ramfins59 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 That's looking great in that light blue color Ray. I'll be working on one of these kits too soon.
wayne swayze Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Great colour choice. This should be super nice!
1 bad55 stan Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Very nice start Ray.Love the color too.Does it have a separate chassis? thx.
squirrel886 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 The Olds builds into a really nice kit. I really like that blue.
Guest Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I do not know how you crank them out so fast. Good work!
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Great start. Love the color. Keep up the good work.
cobraman Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 I do not know how you crank them out so fast. Good work! Retired and have no life. Plus I don't add much detail.
gluebomb Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Retired and have no life. Plus I don't add much detail. Or you could finally get a job that you get paid more and work less. Going from 50+hrs a week to 40ish is a lot better.
cobraman Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Here is an update on the Olds. Chassis is just about done and should be clearing the body and maybe 2 toning the interior panels tomorrow. I am liking this kit.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Looking good Ray. That candy-cane driveshaft is pretty snazzy, too.
cobraman Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 I saw a drive shaft painted like that on a real drag car years ago and do that every once in awhile for probably 20/25 years.
superbike-shaun Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Ray,I love how you snuck that thar special drive shaft, what's the principle behind that????,cool idea Mr no details! Superbike-shaun
ChrisBcritter Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Looks great in baby blue! Any issues assembling the chassis or engine? (By the way, if you're not using the Fiesta wheelcovers, would you be interested in trading for something or other?)
