chunkypeanutbutter Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I'll just obscure the lower half of the truck since it ain't my cup of tea... I do look forward to the rest of the build.
RAT-T Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 THAT LOOKS AWESOME JEFF! WHAT ARE THE WHEELS/TIRES OFF OF?
mikemodeler Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Can't wait to see this one come together. I like the idea of the lift, also have plans to build one stock height 4x4.
gatorincebu Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I want to do one of these as a 4X4 .but not up that high! But I like what you have in the way of wheels and tires. Be Well Gator
jeffs396 Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys! Just getting started, but wanted to show how differently you can go from stock... THAT LOOKS AWESOME JEFF! WHAT ARE THE WHEELS/TIRES OFF OF? Tom, the tires are out-of-production "SoReal" TSL Boggers. Nice tires, I think a few resin casters have repopped these and the two other tires from the original line... The aluminum rims are Pegasus 17", and the centers are out-of-production resin Walker Evans. Awesome body lift!!! HAHAHAHA.... Looks cool LOL Gotta get the ride height somehow to be able to build the suspension Now to build four new leaf springs... Edited June 26, 2015 by jeffs396
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I Like Very Much! I was hoping to do a similar build myself. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
LouO Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I'll be following this one. I like where this could go!
MrObsessive Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I'm not a truck guy by any means, but this has my attention! In fact, I might just break down and get the shortbox version of this it has me so tempted.

01blueedge Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Nice I'm doing one like this also when I get a few other projects finished
jeffs396 Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Thanks again for the replies guys...glad there is some interest in a 4WD version... NIIIICE!! whatcha putting under the hood? Probably the 390 that comes in the box, but I could see a few different powerplants in there too! My son (almost 7 years old) & I went to a car cruise today, and looky what was there: Nice! undercarriage: Talked to the owner for a while...he said he's been waiting for the Moebius kit for about 2 years! I told him we were too! He picked up the kit already and will be building a replica. The black '60 (with a '59 grille) was his too, lucky bugger! The red one has a complete '97 F250 diesel powertrain, wiring harness, and dash. Really nice rig!
Matt T. Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Nice! Yours and his. Thanks for the reference photos. I have some of those TSL Boggers and some BNL resin 4x4 parts with a similar plan in mind.
bogger44 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 My son (almost 7 years old) & I went to a car cruise today, and looky what was there: Lordy, lordy that guy has some nice rigs. I'm really digging those west coast mirrors. Hint, hint.......lol

He also remastered the old Ground Hog, putting the lettering on both sides so they are in the correct direction. Something to check out then...
lanesteele240 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Very neat. Im thinking monster truck with my 71. Thanks for the inspiration.
